Our clients needed a small dining table only for special occasions. They had a brilliant idea to create a pedestal coffee table for every day use that could be transformed into a dining table. By adding two half-circle shaped leaves and raising the steel swivel base to the right height, the coffee table becomes a dining table for four. The residence on the third level of this live/work space is completely private. The large living room features a brick wall with a long linear fireplace and gray toned furniture with leather accents. The dining room features banquette seating with a custom table with built in leaves to extend the table for dinner parties. This project is the third collaboration between the client and DEANE. They wanted their kitchen renovation to feel updated, fresh and modern, while also customized to their tastes. Frameless white cabinetry with modern, narrow-framed doors and satin nickel hardware contrasts cleanly against the opposing rift-oak wood cabinetry. The counters are a combination of polished white glass with Caesarstone countertops in Airy Concrete quartz providing durable, functional workspaces. The single-slab, White Calacatta Sapien Stone porcelain backsplash provides a dramatic backdrop for the floating shelves with integrated lighting. The owners selected a dual-fuel, 6 burner Wolf 48" range with griddle, and decided to panel the SubZero refrigerator and freezer columns that flank the message center/charging station. The custom, boxed hood adds bold lines, while the full Waterstone faucet suite is a memorable feature. It was important to create areas for entertaining, so the pantry features functional, dark navy lower cabinetry for storage with a counter for secondary appliances. The dining area was elevated by the custom furniture piece with sliding doors and wood-framed glass shelves, allowing the display of decorative pieces, as well as buffet serving. The humidity and temperature-controlled custom wine unit holds enough bottles to host the ultimate dinner party

Dining room - industrial dining room idea in Milan

Small space living solutions are used throughout this contemporary 596 square foot tiny house. Adjustable height table in the entry area serves as both a coffee table for socializing and as a dining table for eating. Curved banquette is upholstered in outdoor fabric for durability and maximizes space with hidden storage underneath the seat. Kitchen island has a retractable countertop for additional seating while the living area conceals a work desk and media center behind sliding shoji screens. Calming tones of sand and deep ocean blue fill the tiny bedroom downstairs. Glowing bedside sconces utilize wall-mounting and swing arms to conserve bedside space and maximize flexibility.

Home design - 1960s home design idea in Boston

The dining area is central, located along the nave of a deconsecrated church. The kitchen is atop the sancturary platform, connected by light but hidden by a partial wall. The wood framed armature provides structure at the mezzanine and task lighting at the kitchen counter. Volume and light from a backdrop of tall windows and wood burning stove inspires an inviting setting.

As the first room you see upon entering our client’s Birmingham, MI home, their Dining Room needed to “wow” guests and visitors alike. Completed in September 2023, the previous dining space was painted dark, filled with old furniture used for crafts and multi-family gatherings, and had a dated chandelier from the prior homeowner. Our client really wanted this space to evolve, and “grow up”, now that their kids are older, and she envisioned a more dressed up space for entertaining. We lightened up the walls with a textured, shimmery wallcovering, refreshed the paneled wainscoting base, installed new wall sconces to provide more layered, dramatic lighting. We added a bold chrome chandelier with striking metal shades to act as the focal point of the space. With custom coffered ceilings, each surface of the room provides interest and sophistication. For the finishing touches, we laid the foundation of the room with a tailored, sophisticated Missoni area rug. We furnished the space with a semi-gloss lacquered dining table, stunning custom fabric dining chairs and eye-catching artwork! Our homeowners are now ready to entertain and host regular dinner parties and family gatherings.

The kitchen cabinets project embraces a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics, with a focus on creating a serene atmosphere. Rounded cabinets crafted from light pigmented oak form the backbone of the kitchen's design, infusing the space with a warm and inviting ambiance. The choice of light pigmented oak not only adds a touch of natural elegance but also complements the abundance of natural light that floods into the house, further enhancing the feeling of serenity. A soft color scheme is carefully curated to seamlessly blend with the light oak cabinets, creating a cohesive and soothing visual palette throughout the kitchen. Soft hues such as pale blues, gentle greens, or muted creams are incorporated into the walls, backsplash, and accents, adding depth and tranquility to the space. Central to the kitchen design is the island, intelligently sectioned into two levels. This feature not only maximizes functionality but also serves as a focal point for social gatherings and moments with loved ones. The lower level of the island provides ample space for food preparation and cooking activities, while the elevated section offers a comfortable dining area or a cozy spot for gathering, fostering a sense of togetherness and connection. Whether it's a casual family breakfast, a lively dinner party, or simply a quiet moment shared with loved ones, the versatile design of the kitchen island ensures that it remains the heart of the home, adaptable to any occasion. With its rounded cabinets, light pigmented oak finish, and thoughtfully designed layout, this kitchen exudes a timeless charm and a tranquil atmosphere, inviting occupants to unwind and savor life's simple pleasures.
