In the family room, designers replace the vaulted ceiling with a 13 foot high coffered ceiling. They configure the TV over the mantel in a dark shaft so it can disappear visually. Since pets are kept in this area, they replace two French door sets with stack-back doors, which produces a 12’ opening. When open, this unites the family room with the screen porch, enabling indoor/outdoor living. It enlarges the pet’s territory and helps keep the room fresh. A Bonisolli Photography

The main level at this modern farmhouse has a great room and den bookended by stone fireplaces. The kitchen is at the center of the main living spaces where we designed multiple islands for smart base cabinet storage which still allows visual connection from the kitchen to all spaces. The open living spaces serve the owner’s desire to create a comfortable environment for entertaining during large family gatherings. There are plenty of spaces where everyone can spread out whether it be eating or cooking, watching TV or just chatting by the fireplace. The master retreat opens to a large balcony overlooking the yard accented by mature bamboo and palms. Other features of the main house include European white oak floors, recessed lighting, built in speaker system, attached 2-car garage and a laundry room with 2 sets of state-of-the-art Samsung washers and dryers.
