Set the stage for the ultimate in relaxation! Taking center stage in this primary bath is the inviting soaking tub, set on a marble platform, where LED lighting under the platform’s front edge makes it appear to float. The room exudes luxury with the marble tub surround, countertops, and floors. Most designers would defer to the default choice of placing the tub parallel to the window, directly in the middle. The creative departure here was twofold: the tub is angled so the bather can face the corner view; and a set of storage cabinets facing both outward into the room as well as toward the tub, establishes a unique asymmetrical arrangement. Faucet controls are conveniently located on an easy-to-reach marble ledge. Aside from the tub platform cabinets and handy countertop, additional storage is found in the sizable double vanity on one side of the room containing an abundance of drawers. On the opposite wall is a grooming area (with more drawers!) featuring practical tri-view mirrors, allowing a 360 degree view of your finished look. Cabinetry enhances the serene environment with its light rift-cut white oak slab fronts. Unobtrusive finger pulls avoid distraction, while LED strip lighting is another sleek touch. This luxurious living room is perfect for entertaining. Fortunately, guests will not be distracted by ugly HVAC units, instead these homeowners chose to wow with our register in Scroll.

Previously, this yard was burdened by a typical boulder pile pool, that was heaped higher than typical, trying to hide the towering wall behind. At first, the clients sought merely to reconfigure the BBQ that was congesting the patio, but upon further analysis, they decided it was time to strip the entire yard, leaving only the pool shell. Bianchi’s solution introduced an array of four arbors to distract the eye from the wall behind, solving what the boulder waterfall could never do. Additionally, the wall was painted a dark earth tone to add contrast and depth. This strategy enabled the wall to recede into the distance, while the agave blue grey arbors floated forward visually from the background. Previously, the patios were a hodgepodge of deck islands that were impossible to navigate, and were of insufficient size to arrange furniture on. A well organized patio streamlined the traffic flow and the living space, featuring a cast in place concrete fire pit and banco couch, as well as a new outdoor bistro, glowing with filtered light from the canvas shade sails overhead. A turquoise glass overflow spa became the yards focal point, sharing the space between the pool and outdoor living. The striking symmetry of the spa and pot pedestal with regal cacti arrangement behind, flanked by the arbors on either side, created a stately first impression from the front door. This extensive remodel overlooking Lake Austin is a paean to the powerful art it enfolds. Rigorous editing of every distracting, inconsequential element of the original house was critical. So too was the insertion of new complementary components that provide artful ways to move through both interior and exterior rooms. The collection of modern art is arresting. Ranging from a Turrell hologram to a pair of Agnes Martins, the art is framed by the architecture and lighting so that it is experienced in a choregraphed, curated way that encourages wandering and an intimate connection to each piece. The mood is set in the entry courtyard. A floating walkway curves down and around a brilliant spiraling blue Clement sculpture. It pauses once, at a moment of surprise, when the first view through the house is filled with the blue water of the lake beyond. Inside the saturated color of many of the pieces of art are balanced by an absence of other visual clutter in the color palette, furniture and architecture. A new interior plaster, steel and bronze stair carves through a space occupied by two small Clement sculptures in niches, a Page Kempner sculpture on a landing and a glass cylinder elevator. This is a very specific place, designed for specific art and for a collector who has a close relationship with each piece.

These bespoke fitted alcove TV, display and storage cabinets were handcrafted by Claude Clémaron for a period property in southwest London. The green-painted oak cabinetry provides a variety of open and concealed storage. Tall bifold doors are designed to hide the large black TV screen when it’s not in use and maintain the aesthetic of the living space. The made to measure, floor to ceiling cabinets have been made in natural oak and painted green, in a deep, heritage shade. The spray painted matt finish retains the beautiful appearance of the oak wood’s grain and texture. The painted finish is Green Smoke no 47 by Farrow and Ball, a smoky green, popular in late 19th century interiors. LED lights enhance the units with a subtle glow, while also illuminating the items on display. Timeless craftsmanship for classic interiors The classic bespoke built-in cabinetry features fluted pilasters, decorative elements resembling a column and the mark of fine craftsmanship. Flutes are vertical concave grooves carved into the surface of the pilaster, adding texture and visual interest to the pilaster and bringing a luxuriously elegant look to the cabinetry. The lower cupboards feature soft closing, push to open doors, handle-free doors. This has the effect of a panelled look without the distraction of extra hardware. Bespoke solid oak library ladder The beautifully crafted library ladder enables the user to reach the upper shelves of the cabinets. The ladder hooks on to the handmade aged black steel rails incorporated onto the cabinets. Made in solid oak for strength, stability and style, the ladder will last for decades. Built in fire surround with mantle We created a simple built in integrated fire surround with a shallow decorative mantle for the existing wood burner stove. The fake chimneybreast for the fireplace has a distinctive panel design and visually connects the two alcove cabinets to appear as one continuous wall fitment.

Kitchen Over 150K If you ever found yourself shopping for a new home, finding a model home, falling in love with this model home and immediately signing on the dotted line. Yet after a few months of moving into your new home you realize that the kitchen and the layout of main level will not work out for your lifestyle. The model home you fell in love with was furnished with beautiful furniture distracting you from concentrating on what is really important to you. This is what happened to this couple in Ashburn, VA, after purchasing their dream home. The kitchen lacked natural light, while its location was not ideal and was disrupting their daily routine. After a careful review of the kitchen design, a plan was formed to upgrade the kitchen. Their kitchen was moved to a location between the two-story family room and front dining room. To the left of the family room there was a breakfast eating area that was not serving any purpose. Our design incorporated the breakfast area placed along a couple feet from an adjacent pantry space to create this new dream kitchen. By knocking down a few bearing walls, we have placed the main sink area under large backside windows. Now the kitchen can look into their beautiful backyard. A major load bearing wall between the old breakfast room and adjacent two-story family was taken down and a big steel beam took the place of that, creating a large seamless connection between the new kitchen and the rest of the home. A large island was implemented with a prep sink, microwave, and with lots of seating space around it. Large scale professional appliances along with stunning mosaic backsplash tiles complement this amazing kitchen design. Double barn style door in front of the pantry area sets off this storage space tucked away from rest of the kitchen. All the old tile was removed and a matching wide plank distressed wood floor was installed to create a seamless connection to rest of the home. A matching butler pantry cabinet area just outside of dining room and a wine station/drink serving area between family room and main foyer were added to better utilize the multi-function needs of the family. The custom inset cabinetry with double layers and exotic stone counter top, distressed ceiling beams, and other amenities are just a few standouts of this project.

This custom table was designed with the large family and the space in mind. The gorgeous, over-sized windows facing a lake was not be distracted from so a glass topped table was created keeping the space looking open and reflective. The gorgeous, simple legs of the base were made to accommodate as many chairs as we could manage. Simple wood chairs were bought because of their low-profile backs but height was placed at each end to warm the space. Two fabulous chandeliers were placed over the table to give light to the whole space.

Less is more with this clean contemporary setup in a Chicago high-rise. Push-to open doors and drawers deliver on a sleek, distraction-free look. Matte white fronts contrast well with the rift cut white oak island. Sliding island doors yield utility in a tight space and enable the shelving on the inside to double as a display, when open. Pantry garage features proximity sensed lighting and tucks away the most commonly used small appliances. 3/4" quartz counters continue onto the back splash for a unified look.

Home designers know that glass is the ultimate neutral, and that a lamp like the Sanibel Table Lamp can enhance any space. That’s because clear glass isn’t a distracting presence. This Naperville kitchen had some BIG changes. From the ceiling to the floor, everything was transformed. Soffits were removed, and also a small closet, which opened up the kitchen space. New lighting, moldings and interior doors elevated the look. And finally, new hardwood floors installed throughout complete the updated framework. For this new space we chose lovely Cherry cabinets from Kemper. The transitional Wolcott door style bridges the more modern family area with the formal living spaces. The classic chestnut tones blend perfectly with the existing furniture. Finishing the look is a traditional tall crown, adding detail at the ceiling. Though the room is not huge, thoughtful storage options make the most of the space. On the wall that previously held the small closet, a buffet piece was designed. This carries our wood tones through the space, provides more storage, and offers the perfect opportunity for a display piece. The antique glass doors are a subtle touch of texture. The next layer is the beautiful Cambria countertops. The soft, neutral tones allow the cabinetry to be the star, while the random variations in pattern add interest, and pull together our color palette. In keeping with the brown tones, an Espresso quartz sink was used, as well as Vintage Bronze hardware, and classic brown leather stools. The slightly irregular handmade tiles used for the backsplash add texture without being distracting. Overall, the blending of rich wood tones and neutral surfaces creates a warm yet light and open space – a perfect place for the family to gather!

Inspiration for a garage remodel in New York

During the warmer months, these Mantaloking, New Jersey homeowners spend many evenings on their porch enjoying the salt air and spectacular views. Shortly after moving in, they realized that to fully enjoy their porch they needed to add insect screens. Since it was a vacation home, the screens had to be easy to maintain, reliable and simple to use. After looking at several screen solutions, they decided on Phantom’s motorized screens. The screens do not distract from the homes architecture or block their view of the ocean. When it’s time to leaveat the end of a weekend or before the arrival of winter, the screens are safely and effortlessly stored in their housings.

The rustic cedar pavilion was customized to integrate with the fireplace, which is the crowning feature of this outdoor kitchen! Standing seam metal roofing will provide low maintenance. Downspouts were incorporated into the pillars to minimize distracting plumbing. The fireplace utilizes materials used elsewhere on the project. It was faced with wall block to match the seating walls & pillars. The chimney was wrapped in the same block used in the tiered wall & pillar caps, and topped with a tiered cap.
