Inspiration for a mid-sized transitional dark wood floor and brown floor kitchen/dining room combo remodel in Charlotte with no fireplace and gray walls

The client was recently widowed and had been wanting to remodel her kitchen for a long time. Although the floor plan of the space remained the same, the kitchen received a major makeover in terms of aesthetic and function to fit the style and needs of the client and her small dog in this water front residence. The peninsula was brought down in height to achieve a more spacious and inviting feel into the living space and patio facing the water. Shades of gray were used to veer away from the all white kitchen and adding a dark gray entertainment unit really added drama to the space. SGT Welch is 73 years old and was an Army Military Policeman (31B), as well as a Gunner on a Helicopter Gunship. His platoon was involved in the Battle of Saigon in which they were trapped in an alleyway. Chair Cushions Pop With Sunbrella Icon Volt Sequoia This adorable pooch certainly approves of these seat, back, and ottoman cushions recently fabricated by Patio Lane! "The cushions are beautifully made and are exactly what I was hoping for. I purchased firm foam without understanding just how firm it would be and would not suggest this to anyone, but love the workmanship and fabric. It was very helpful to receive samples (which I requested quite a few several times) to help make my decision on the final color. Hopefully the cushions will soften over time and become more comfortable, but I'm sure they'll last quite a few years!"

We custom made these built in cubbies. They have storage nooks, coat hooks, and beadboard back capped with a top rail. We added a small wood doorstop on the lower right to prevent the door from banging into piece. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. This family cooks! We utilized the large panty area as an extra kitchen complete with SHAKER WHITE cabinets, oven & and icemaker. The main kitchen also received a complete overhaul with our SHAKER DUSK CABINETS (very light gray). Floors were refinished with JACOBEAN stain with a water-based satin finish. We finished off the bar area with SHAKER GRAY cabinets, shiplap walls, and new tile. All countertops are FANTASY BROWN leather finished. -Tony Pescho
