Bridle Path Residence — Luxury Wellness Bathroom & Hydrotherapy Suite
This Bridle Path Residence bathroom is conceived as a private hydrotherapy retreat, bringing a resort-like wellness experience into the home while maintaining the architectural detailing and craftsmanship of the residence. The design is less about creating a conventional bathroom and more about establishing a dedicated space for relaxation, recovery, and ritual.
The hydrotherapy tub becomes the central sculptural element of the room. Its generous curved profile creates a soft, organic focal point against the highly detailed wall treatment, while the integrated jets and ergonomic form emphasize the room's wellness-driven purpose. Positioning the tub within the main architectural composition gives it the presence of a luxury amenity rather than treating it as a standard fixture.
The walls are enveloped in a small-format decorative mosaic with an intricate, almost textile-like pattern. This repeated surface creates remarkable visual depth and gives the room a distinctly crafted quality. The subtle variation within the mosaic prevents the predominantly light palette from feeling flat, while its fine geometry provides a counterpoint to the smooth, sculptural tub.
A particularly thoughtful feature is the integrated sauna viewing window, which creates a visual relationship between the hydrotherapy area and the warm timber sauna beyond. The opening turns the sauna into part of the overall composition and establishes a clear sequence of wellness experiences—hydrotherapy, heat, and showering—within one cohesive suite.
The adjacent shower introduces a contrasting material language. Large-format marble-look surfaces create a cleaner, more serene backdrop, while the vertical patterned accent strip adds a strong decorative moment. This controlled use of pattern prevents the space from becoming visually overwhelming and gives the shower its own identity.
The sauna itself introduces warmth through natural timber, creating an immediate sensory contrast with the cool, pale surfaces surrounding it. The wood adds depth and reinforces the feeling of a private spa retreat, while the glass enclosure maintains openness and allows the different wellness zones to remain visually connected.
The flooring continues the decorative approach with a carefully patterned layout that complements the wall mosaic without simply repeating it. This creates a layered surface treatment in which scale, geometry, and texture work together to give the room a highly customized character.
Even the circulation area is treated as part of the design experience. The glass door and open stair connection allow light to move through the space, while the traditional architectural detailing visible beyond the bathroom establishes continuity with the broader residence.
The overall concept is residential wellness with an emphasis on craftsmanship and sensory experience. Decorative mosaic, natural timber, glass, stone-inspired surfaces, sculptural plumbing, and carefully integrated wellness features create a room that feels more like a private boutique spa than a conventional home bathroom.

The entire ground floor of this 70's home was gutted to provide an open, bright, social space for a young family. Moving away from the idea of separate rooms for each 'function', this tricky L-shaped configuration, (typical to homes of this era when the large attached garage became a major component) turns into a series of spaces which flow into one another and provide a cohesive social space.

From the designer - "Custom drapery panels are made of hand-printed fabric. The artwork was selected by the client and a giclee print was ordered and framed. Surround sound and recessed lighting were added, as well as crown molding. They now have more seating in a room that's comfy and inviting."
"Removing the existing wet bar and replacing it with a custom bookcase was one of the client's first priorities. The new floors were chosen to match the other rooms on the main floor, and the entire color palette was driven by the tile we selected. The hearth is flush and trip-free, and new fireplace logs and doors, along with a mantel made by an Etsy seller completed this focus wall. The artwork is the clients' existing pieces, just re-framed."

Driven by the owner's vision and design, Greenleaf craftsmen transformed this Bolton Hill townhome into a contemporary space to align with the owner's lifestyle.
Walls were reconfigured on the first floor to open up access to the kitchen and family room which allowed light to flow throughout the home. A new kitchen was created with two toned oak and painted cabinetry to maximize space, quartz countertops, geometric 3D cube backsplash and a new tile floor.
In the primary suite, walls were also reconfigured to open up the space while an opaque glass barn door separates the bedroom from the bathroom. The bathroom features a custom walnut vanity, marble countertops and a matching walnut framed mirror. A variety of linear tile patterns mix together to create a modern and dynamic feel. The accent wall in the shower features hundreds of handmade tiles arranged in a random pattern.
Additionally, the hall bathroom was completely renovated with a custom multi-tone vanity and corian top with integral sink, along with herringbone tile extending along the wall.
The house was repainted, and floors were finished throughout.

Perched in the foothills of Edna Valley, this single family residence was designed to fulfill the clients’ desire for seamless indoor-outdoor living. Much of the program and architectural forms were driven by the picturesque views of Edna Valley vineyards, visible from every room in the house. Ample amounts of glazing brighten the interior of the home, while framing the classic Central California landscape. Large pocketing sliding doors disappear when open, to effortlessly blend the main interior living spaces with the outdoor patios. The stone spine wall runs from the exterior through the home, housing two different fireplaces that can be enjoyed indoors and out.
Because the clients work from home, the plan was outfitted with two offices that provide bright and calm work spaces separate from the main living area. The interior of the home features a floating glass stair, a glass entry tower and two master decks outfitted with a hot tub and outdoor shower. Through working closely with the landscape architect, this rather contemporary home blends into the site to maximize the beauty of the surrounding rural area.

This interior remodel reimagined a dated kitchen and bathroom as one cohesive, light-filled living environment. The homeowners wanted a home that felt calm, organized, and effortless to live in — spaces that support everyday routines rather than complicate them.
D&G managed the entire project under a single Design-Build process: design, material selections, engineering, permitting, construction, and final quality control handled by one team with one point of accountability.
The Kitchen
The galley kitchen was opened into an adjacent dining area to improve flow and natural light. Soft white cabinetry pairs with quartz countertops and a full-height marble-look quartz backsplash behind the induction cooktop, creating a clean, uninterrupted surface that's as practical as it is refined.
A vertical shiplap accent wall introduces subtle texture and depth, balanced by a floating natural maple shelf that echoes the wood tones throughout the home. Integrated appliance placement — a wall oven, concealed microwave shelf, and under-cabinet ventilation — keeps countertops clear and sightlines uncluttered.
Adjacent to the kitchen, a custom built-in storage wall blends natural maple upper cabinetry with white base cabinetry, delivering pantry-level capacity without the visual weight of a closed pantry. Timeless, functional, and designed to age well.
The Bathroom
The bathroom carries the same design language as the kitchen: a natural maple vanity with raised-panel doors, brushed nickel hardware, quartz countertop with integrated backsplash, and an undermount sink.
A recessed medicine cabinet extends storage without intruding on the room, while a glass-enclosed shower with a low-threshold base and window-driven natural light keeps the space open, bright, and easy to maintain.
Wood-look tile flooring ties the bathroom to the wide-plank flooring used throughout the home — a detail that makes the renovation read as one intentional project rather than a series of separate updates.

An extraordinary opportunity taken, applying a client driven design concept into a residence surpassing all expectations. Client collaboration and pursuant work combine to satisfy requirements of modernism, respect of streetscape, family privacy, and applications of art and function. Interior Furnishings by Client. This Washington DC interior design project features two beautifully distinct dining spaces, each telling its own design story within the same residence. The first dining room commands attention with forest green velvet seating, a dramatic black fluted pedestal table, a brass and glass bubble chandelier, and a large-scale abstract gold artwork flanked by floor-to-ceiling olive drapery, a masterclass in luxe, color-driven transitional dining room design. The second dining space leans into refined elegance, cool grey walls, a glass-top round table, plush white velvet chairs, a cascading silver globe chandelier, and a sculptural silver wall installation paired with a custom lit built-in bookcase. Together, these spaces demonstrate how thoughtful residential interior design can create cohesion across an entire home without sacrificing individuality in each room.

Dining and lounging converge in a single fluid space, unified by plush textures and curated art.
