We used family-friendly interiors using cheerful colors reminiscent of the beach - sand, sea-grass, water, and sky. To avoid feeling overly coastal, we made a point to incorporate the colors they love in subtle ways. Project designed by Boston interior design studio Dane Austin Design. In the center is a large island with a prep sink stained with a medium wood tone, buckskin, which is mirrored by the floating shelves flanking the shiplapped range hood. The countertops are Silestone Quartz in Pearl Jasmine, and the backsplash is Annie Selke Artisinal White Ceramic tile with a hand-style crackle finish. Throughout the kitchen and great room, the fixtures for the bar, prep sink, and main sink are finidhed in a sleek matte black. The kitchen also features Thermador stainless steel appliances.

A kitchen remodel for a retired Navy Captain who was ready for an upgrade to his beloved home. We wanted to keep the space light and aery but have that contrast with the black appliances. Cleanliness and easy of care were top priorities, so we used wood-looking porcelain tile and quartz for the hard surfaces. Arctic white cabinets got a chocolate glaze to amplify the detail in the door style and added a warmer feel to this large kitchen. The slab we picked was a statement piece and we made sure to use it for the backslash and waterfall it down the bar peninsula. We preserved the same footprint in this kitchen, changed out the pony wall for a bar-high peninsula, upgraded the appliances and painted the whole space Dover White. A luxury kitchen defined by a ribbed quartzite island, bespoke white oak cabinetry, and brushed brass hardware. Natural stone surfaces were digitally mapped for continuous veining, while a glass partition connects the space to the family room — open yet distinct.
