Faux Finished stripes with gold metallic edging. Dragged molding in blackened bronze metallic. Tissue papered/fauxed ceiling. Metallic faux ceiling medalion. Faux finished ceiling.

This kitchen started life as a wide-open and airy space with somewhat drab cabinets. Its bones were great, some of the details were interesting – the pendant lights, the high vaulted ceiling and the soffit bridges, but the blonde oak cabinets, white tile counters, and vinyl flooring dragged the space back into the realm of the mundane.
When the homeowners came to San Luis Kitchen they were seeking to add a bold richness to their home. They fell in love with our cherry cabinets in a deep red finish called ‘Fireside Heirloom Black’ which has black glaze and fleck distressing to bring out the details of the style.
Our designers helped them to organize the kitchen – changing the cook-top to a range and sliding it to the left for symmetry and increased work space (eliminating the combo wall oven/microwave), adding an arched valance over the window to tie the halves of the kitchen together, and reconfiguring the refrigerator and microwave thus gaining 24” of counter in the corner.
San Luis Kitchen explored several island layouts with the homeowners – we wanted to add a prep sink, a double trash cabinet, more storage, display cabinetry for glassware and crystal, and a seating/eating bar. We added buffet cabinets to the bay window, replaced the white appliances with stainless, and added a copper hood and apron sink for rich detailing.
Now the homeowners have a great room that includes a GREAT kitchen. Life’s good!

This older couple have been residing in their one level custom home since the early 80’s. The Master bathroom old design was dysfunctional, steps in bathroom were dangerous for their age, the deck mounted tub took too much floor space, vanity space was limited. Swing doors were cutting accessibility for them. The wanted to open up the space and bring this old dragged of bathroom into a new era of design and functionality.
Planned a double sided fireplace in front of the tub area, taking out all multi-level shower and tub area, enlarged the shower stall and moved the new free standing tub directly under the wall of glass blocks, We have taken advantage of tall cathedral ceiling and added new ceiling and recess lights to brighten this space. The toilet area was enclosed with a frost glass pocket and made more room for larger vanity and counter space, given them lots of storage, small closets were taken out and replaced with larger linen cabinetry.
We have relocated the toilet to open up large portion of back wall, now home for his vanity space. The shower was moved to the corner, taking some space form adjacent closet.
Customer framed mirror, sconce lighting has taken over the left side of pantry, will large scale tile (and heated floor) this master bathroom transformation has given them a whole new life.
Carefully selected stain on cabinetry complimenting the stone top and porcelain floor and wall tiles were all a big part of this transformation.
The custom closet system has given them a much-needed space for their clothing and all their seasonal clothes.
Now more than ever life in their master suite is pleasurable and relaxing.

On rainy days, we think about pets and the mud they can drag into our homes. A great idea is to turn your mudroom into an area that can accommodate your fur kids. Take a look at this blog for some fun ideas!

This client was tired of staring at the same old yellow walls, worn-out carpeting, and tired furniture in their main bedroom. Poor lighting added a dullness to the home, and outdated furniture dragged down the overall aesthetic.
They wanted a brand new main bedroom, updating the traditional look to evoke feelings of warmth, relaxation, and just a little touch of bling! All they needed was new furniture, flooring, paint colors, and lighting to bring their new primary bedroom to life.
We reimagined their primary bedroom with a beautiful new upholstered bed complete with luxury tufted silver buttons - just what they needed for a dreamy night's sleep! We also incorporated elegant recessed lighting and a mount lighting fixture with crystal accents to bring in some glam accents.
The new soft cream carpeting, complete with a subtle arabesque pattern and soft gray painted walls, brought a beautiful feeling of calm to the primary bedroom while inviting wall art and pops of blue accents added visual interest to the neutral background. Finally, we completed the look with luxurious new bedding with ribbon trim details and velvet pillow covers.

When it comes to small spaces every inch counts! The key to making them work is to think of traffic flow, and how you’re going to arrange furniture for ease of access and comfort. This gives credence to the form over function motto!
For this project we knew we were expanding the indoor outdoor flow by removing a wall of the house, creating a pocket door, so the interior living room was going to merge perfectly with the new exterior living room.
The first element of the design we worked out was a built-in Banco seating around a central fire pit, with cushions and exterior fabrics, that even has a one piece cover that can snap in place. This will protect the fabrics in place while the couple travels, without having to drag them through the house to the garage for storage.
The second critical factor of the design was implementing an outdoor kitchen just off camera, built-in to a patio Column, so that it becomes a serving bar and the appliances are behind the bar not out in the public space.
Across the water, the vanishing edge spa was the visual draw, reflecting a fruitless olive tree, all enjoyed from the fire pit seating area.
The back edge of the pool features a knife edge tile to granite interface without a coping, to minimize the line between water and landscape.
Last but not least, the sweeping arc curvature of the pools leading edge was done so as to ease traffic flow from the entertaining and fire seating area to the spa, and to soften the otherwise rectangular lines of the yard.

This paver hardscaped seating wall will provide plenty of additional seating for any BBQ, party or get together. By having a seating wall, the need to drag in multiple chairs for people is non-existent. These hardscape paver seating walls can be made to look even more inviting with a couple blankets and throw pillows.
