The reclaimed wood hood draws attention in this large farmhouse kitchen. A pair of reclaimed doors were fitted with antique mirror and were repurposed as pantry doors. Brass lights and hardware add elegance. The island is painted a contrasting gray and is surrounded by rope counter stools. The ceiling is clad in pine tounge- in -groove boards to create a rich rustic feeling. In the coffee bar the brick from the family room bar repeats, to created a flow between all the spaces.

This modern kitchen design is a masterpiece of both style and function. The bright, airy space features high ceilings with a large window that allow ample natural light. White Mouser Centra kitchen cabinets include upper glass front cabinetry with in cabinet lighting, and are accessorized by Top Knobs Hopewell Collection black hardware. Perimeter cabinets are topped by LG Viatera Minuet quartz countertop, while a honed absolute black granite countertop draws attention to the island. The kitchen includes Thermador appliances and a professional hood with a blower, as well as a Bosch built in microwave and a Kohler farmhouse style sink. The fireplace is the focal point of this great room design. This arterior hanging pendant over the dining table draws the attention in the right direction. The fireplace is capped in large slabs of ocean black slate.

This home in Greenwood Village was in need of an updated kitchen with more cabinet space and natural lighting. The custom-built dark beams in the ceiling are complemented with white cabinets and large windows allowing for great natural light. The planter area behind the intricate copper sink sits above a drain for easy watering. The plants are also in a great location to soak up the Colorado sun! The lighted cabinets also draw attention to the family’s precious collections. Other updates included the living room and adjacent sitting area. We created a custom bookshelf to match the ceiling beams, allowing the family more room to display books and keepsakes. The sitting area included a one-of-a-kind, handmade mosaic artwork that our team installed above the new fireplace.

DESIGN: Astro Design Centre - Ottawa, Canada Photo @JVLPHOTO The couple are huge traditionalist, so Astro chose a detailing in the frame that evokes a very classic feel, and beautiful detail. The darker island was chosen to break the cappuccino-coloured perimeter cabinetry up from being all uniform. This classic stained walnut island is in the centre of the kitchen - stands out, yet doesn’t draw attention away from the beautiful stove wall. That detailing added an extra personal touch to the backsplash and a bit of old world charm.

This is the only bathroom in the condo, and it's small. To make it feel more like a room than a bathroom, an extra-full custom shower curtain was designed to look like colour-blocked drapery. The vanity was designed to look like a glamorous black-lacquered chest, with metal legs and gorgeous hand-cast hardware. The large mirror spanning the wall draws attention to the span of black marble countertop.

A breakfast table attached to the kitchen island offers additional seating and tabletop space. Architect Allard Jansen describes the home’s new floor plan as: “A central courtyard with two wings” Discussing the homes main features, he draws attention to the entrance of the home, the style of which is a specialty of the firm.. “One of the surprises we like to do is that you don’t step into the house when you come through the front door, instead you step into a courtyard,” he explains. This home invites the outdoors in and the central courtyard houses a gurgling fountain and outdoor furniture centered around a fireplace.

Inspiration for a dining room remodel in Delhi

This elegant walk-in shower features a textured vertical tile in soft beige for a modern, sculptural effect. The matching mosaic floor tile adds visual interest while maintaining a cohesive look. Sleek chrome fixtures complete the design, delivering both functionality and style in this spa-like primary ensuite.

The family who owned this 1965 home chose a dramatic upgrade for their Coquitlam full home renovation. They wanted more room for gatherings, an open concept kitchen, and upgrades to bathrooms and the rec room. Their neighbour knew of our work, and we were glad to bring our skills to another project in the area. Choosing Dramatic Lines In the original house, the entryway was cramped, with a closet being the first thing everyone saw. We opened the entryway and moved the closet, all while maintaining separation between the entry and the living space. To draw the attention from the entry into the living room, we used a dramatic, flush, black herringbone ceiling detail across the ceiling. This detail goes all the way to the entertainment area on the main floor. The eye arrives at a stunning waterfall edge walnut mantle, modern fireplace. Open Concept Kitchen with Lots of Seating The dividing wall between the kitchen and living areas was removed to create a larger, integrated entertaining space. The kitchen also has easy access to a new outdoor social space. A new large skylight directly over the kitchen floods the space with natural light. The kitchen now has gloss white cabinetry, with matte black accents and the same herringbone detail as the living room, and is tied together with a low maintenance Caesarstone’s white Attica quartz for the island countertop. This over-sized island has barstool seating for five while leaving plenty of room for homework, snacking, socializing, and food prep in the same space. To maximize space and minimize clutter, we integrated the kitchen appliances into the kitchen island, including a food warming drawer, a hidden fridge, and the dishwasher. This takes the eyes to focus off appliances, and onto the design elements which feed throughout the home. We also installed a beverage center just beside the kitchen so family and guests can fix themselves a drink, without disrupting the flow of the kitchen. Updated Downstairs Space, Updated Guest Room, Updated Bathrooms It was a treat to update this entire house. Upstairs, we renovated the master bedroom with new blackout drapery, new decor, and a warm light grey paint colour. The tight bathroom was transformed with modern fixtures and gorgeous grey tile the homeowners loved. The two teen girls’ rooms were updated with new lighting and furniture that tied in with the whole home decor, but which also reflected their personal taste. In the basement, we updated the rec room with a bright modern look and updated fireplace. We added a needed door to the garage. We upgraded the bathrooms and created a legal second suite which the young adult daughter will use, for now. Laundry Its Own Room, Finally In a family with four women, you can imagine how much laundry gets done in this house. As part of the renovation, we built a proper laundry room with plenty of storage space, countertops, and a large sink.

New construction calls for a kitchen done right the first time! A generous layout with multiple work zones – this kitchen works well for the large family. A key requirement of this design was to draw attention to various family heirloom pieces by creating several options for display, and oh, how they steal the show in this kitchen, Peeking through the glass fronted cabinets and perched below the crown molding, the combination of the polished look amid a casual gathering place makes for a lovely kitchen. Project specs: Cabinets by Quality Custom Cabinetry, Miele appliances including induction cooktop, Wide plank walnut floor, Quarter sawn island cabinets, painted white perimeter cabinets. Leathered granite on the white cabinets and walnut counter top on the island. A large butler's pantry is featured in the background with dark grey paint and a walnut countertop.
