Challenges were many, but with clients ready to make it happen we went to work. The sloping back yard required two retaining walls that provided a perfect home for the poolscape. Color was a must, and waterfalls were desired. Existing woodland at the back of the property were used to create a beautiful natural back drop for this new living area. The deck was modified to create easy access, and the security fencing was designed to be hidden while in the poolscape.

The walk across the lawn from the main house, down towards the former outbuilding which was re-fashioned into a guest house. The steps are created from recycled granite curbing which once graced the streets of Philadelphia. The roses seen in this view include Rosa ‘Abraham Darby’, ‘Graham Thomas’ and ‘New Dawn’. The billowy plumes of blue flowers belong to Catmint (Nepeta racemosa ‘Walker’s Low’)

We designed this kitchen using Plain & Fancy custom cabinetry with natural walnut and white pain finishes. The extra large island includes the sink and marble countertops. The matching marble backsplash features hidden spice shelves behind a mobile layer of solid marble. The cabinet style and molding details were selected to feel true to a traditional home in Greenwich, CT. In the adjacent living room, the built-in white cabinetry showcases matching walnut backs to tie in with the kitchen. The pantry encompasses space for a bar and small desk area. The light blue laundry room has a magnetized hanger for hang-drying clothes and a folding station. Downstairs, the bar kitchen is designed in blue Ultracraft cabinetry and creates a space for drinks and entertaining by the pool table. This was a full-house project that touched on all aspects of the ways the homeowners live in the space. Photos by Kyle Norton

Concrete stepping stones meander their way thought a private, densely planted garden area. Accents like a wooden bridge over the dry creek bed, a seating bench, and container planting bring this area to life.

This unique home gets better and better as you pass through the private front patio courtyard and into a gorgeous entry. The study conveniently located off the entry can also be used as a fourth bedroom. A large walk-in closet is located inside the master bathroom with convenient access to the laundry room.
