This busy family, with a house full of kids, dogs, and cats, needed a landing place for everyone as they arrived home, and the cramped entry hall was no longer working. A mudroom was designed with custom cabinets, including lockers and an island, to create a storage system for the family, and as importantly a place to hang out, do homework, and art projects. Lockers were built for each member of the family, complete with shoe storage, charging stations for computers, and basket storage above. A central island has 4 stools to sit for homework, art or snacktime, and houses drawers for each of the kids to drop their keys, with a USB charger for phones and iPads.

This customer expanded the master closet into the unused attic space to make the closet larger. Adding a custom closet incorporating a laundry hamper and jewelry drawers with lots of handing rods tripled the size of the closet overall.

This remodel of a mid-century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs. The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. Lift and brighten any space in your home by refreshing your ceiling with a new coat of paint. Follow these tips to help you avoid lap marks and end up with professional-quality results. 1. Prep the room: Before you can begin painting your ceiling, you need to prep the room. Cover furnishings and flooring with drop cloths to protect surfaces from paint splatters. 2. Clean ceiling: Make sure you have a sturdy, safe stepladder that remains steady as you reach for the ceiling. 3. Cut in with paint: Use a 2- or 2-1/2-inch angled brush to cut in a 3- to 4-inch-wide band of paint around the edges of the ceiling. 4. Paint + Finish: Use a 9-inch roller with a 1/2-inch nap to hold a generous quantity of paint. Keep rolling until the entire ceiling is covered. The theater scope included both a projection system and a multi-TV video wall. The projection system is an Epson 1080p projector on a Stewart Cima motorized screen. To achieve the homeowner’s requirement to switch between one large video program and five smaller displays for sports viewing. The smaller displays are comprised of a 75” Samsung 4K smart TV flanked by two 50” Samsung 4K displays on each side for a total of 5 possible independent video programs. These smart TVs and the projection system video are managed through a Control4 touchscreen and video routing is achieved through an Atlona 4K HDMI switching system. Unlike the client’s 7.1 theater at his primary residence, the hunting lodge theater was to be a Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 system. The speaker system was to be a Bowers & Wilkins CT7 system for the main speakers and use CI600 series for surround and Atmos speakers. CT7 15” subwoofers with matched amplifier were selected to bring a level of bass response to the room that the client had not experienced in his primary residence. The CT speaker system and subwoofers were concealed with a false front wall and concealed behind acoustically transparent cloth. Some degree of wall treatment was required but the budget would not allow for a typical snap-track track installation or acoustical analysis. A one-inch absorption panel system was designed for the room and custom trim and room design allowed for stock size panels to be used with minimum custom cuts, allowing for a room to get some treatment in a budget that would normally afford none. Both the equipment rack and the projector are concealed in a storage room at the back of the theater. The projector is installed into a custom enclosure with a CAV designed and built port-glass window into the theater.

This moody Industrial Farmhouse Kitchen is one of our all time favorite designs! Lucky for us this young family called upon our skills yet again to dream & deliver a cohesive new look for the entire main level of their Moorestown, New Jersey home. We knew Tracy & Tim really loved the end result of their mancave basement, with its painted black ceiling, and industrial vibe. The kitchen, however, needed to be a bit lighter so it would connect to the rest of their home. Solutions: bigger windows, dark gray & distressed walnut cabinets, a burnished copper hood, mesh textures (both in the bar and the stools), lighter quartz counters, and a backsplash that looks like whitewashed brick. We even infused some extra style and function by having a custom bay storage bench created for their empty bay window. We intentially used lighter colored cabinets and an overall brighter approach to this now very inviting laundry room. Because, lets face facts, who REALLY loves doing laundry! Features include hip level folding counter, loads of extra storage, clothes hanging systems, a drop down folding counter, and oversized great quality laundry bins on wheels.
