Every successful bath project starts with the right design plan and for this teen’s bathroom, creating a stylish space reflecting their personalities was a must. Safety features, good lighting and proper ventilation improved the usability and enhanced the space for these young adults. We recommended a vent fan that not only removes unwanted moisture but also can stream their favorite music from their smart phones Bluetooth so that the phones can stay safe and dry in a nearby room. Transitional larger format tile in a neutral grey tone, unique and decorative glass tile and brushed nickel edging around the shower cubby added an element of dimension and style. The decorative tile created a stunning focal-point to the back wall of the shower and complimented the brushed nickel fixtures and tending finishes of the white quartz countertop and grey-blend porcelain plank flooring.

This wet room designed bathroom provides zero threshold access for bathing. The Ann Sacks teal glass deco tiles provide a visual guide for the shower area while adding a beautiful punch of color. A grab bar shampoo shelf by Invisia and an extra long second grab bar by Moen facilitates the transfer from a wheel chair or other mobility assistance devises to the shower seat (and toilet, behind the camera view). The handheld shower on an adjustable slide bar provides flexibility for bathers who are either seated or standing, as well as space for caregivers. The combination clothes washer/heat pump dryer makes good use of the space under the stairs as well as proximity to water supply pipes and waste drains that service the bathroom. The 2" x 2" floor tiles in the shower area provide additional traction to mitigate the potential for slips and falls.

Michael Merrill Design Studio completely reworked this 53 square-foot bathroom. This is the only bathroom in the 815 square-foot Edwardian residence. The floating cabinet increases the sense of space in this tiny bathroom. We relocated the bathroom so it is no longer located in the kitchen.

This is the master bathroom shower. We expanded the bathroom area by taking over the upstairs apartment kitchen when we combined apartments. This shower features a teak wood shower floor for a luxurious feel under foot. Also in teak is the shower nook for soaps and bottles. Who said a Laundry Room had to be dull and boring? This colorful laundry room is loaded with storage both in its custom cabinetry and also in its 3 large closets for winter/spring clothing. The black and white 20x20 floor tile gives a nod to retro and is topped off with apple green walls and an organic free-form backsplash tile! This room serves as a doggy mud-room, eating center and luxury doggy bathing spa area as well. The organic wall tile was designed for visual interest as well as for function. The tall and wide backsplash provides wall protection behind the doggy bathing station. The bath center is equipped with a multifunction hand-held faucet with a metal hose for ease while giving the dogs a bath. The shelf underneath the sink is a pull-out doggy eating station and the food is located in a pull-out trash bin.

In this bathroom, the client wanted the contrast of the white subway tile and the black hexagon tile. We tiled up the walls and ceiling to create a wet room feeling.
