In south Seattle, a tiny backyard garden needed a makeover to add usability and create a sitting area for entertaining. Raised garden beds for edible plants provide the transition between the existing deck and new patio below, eliminating the need for a railing. A firepit provides the focal point for the new patio. Paver patio dining area overlooks a very private, green back yard. The edibles were planted in the middle garden. Nasturtium and herbs were the favorites. The bluestone patio (30"x30" pieces) defines a landing area near the gate entryway but it also is the only spot to get direct sun in the afternoon.
