When our client wanted the design of their master bath to honor their Japanese heritage and emulate a Japanese bathing experience, they turned to us. They had very specific needs and ideas they needed help with — including blending Japanese design elements with their traditional Northwest-style home. The shining jewel of the project? This Calcutta Gold marble came from our friends at Elemar in New Haven. They curate the finest selection of show-stopping stone that I've ever seen. There are many beautiful quartz options that emulate the look of marble but this reminds you why it's captivated us for millennia.

In this luxurious setting, the silk sofa is framed by shell pink dupioni silk drapes. Notice the unusual pleating-created especially for this project- to emulate the look of lotus buds- a motif used in Egyptian ornamentation. The black pole with god leaf finials keeps the design neoclassical. The three horizontal bands on the leading edge captures the art deco design aesthetic.

The large barbecue offers a cantilevered counter for entertaining. The waterfall into the pool is surrounded with bamboo and plantings that emulate the hillside beyond the property. The permeable paving and mix of Vitex and Olive trees provide shade for smaller seating areas to enjoy the variety of succulents throughout the garden

2013 winter decor installation, we like to utilize as many natural materials as possible with a touch of formality to emulate the design of the gardens. This season we used a selection of white pine, pepperberry, incense cedar, spruce, curly willow and dried hydrangea.

After completing an interior remodel for this mid-century home in the South Salem hills, we revived the old, rundown backyard and transformed it into an outdoor living room that reflects the openness of the new interior living space. We tied the outside and inside together to create a cohesive connection between the two. The yard was spread out with multiple elevations and tiers, which we used to create “outdoor rooms” with separate seating, eating and gardening areas that flowed seamlessly from one to another. We installed a fire pit in the seating area; built-in pizza oven, wok and bar-b-que in the outdoor kitchen; and a soaking tub on the lower deck. The concrete dining table doubled as a ping-pong table and required a boom truck to lift the pieces over the house and into the backyard. The result is an outdoor sanctuary the homeowners can effortlessly enjoy year-round.

This theatre and concession area has it all! Custom finishes of a 'ticket wicket' booth, concession cabinet with extra storage for even more candy, pull out cabinet sliders for ease of access on either side of the candy shelves, popcorn machine and video games! The door to the theatre is faux leather that is tufted with nailheads. Inside the theatre, the look is more glamourous and accented with reds and plums. Gold crown molding adds to the luxe feel while the damask fabric on the cushions and acoustic panels offer a nod to classic design.
