This family of four love to entertain and having friends and family over. Their 1970 Rambler was getting cramped after their two daughters moved back and that was their cry for help. They also wanted to have two door garages added into their home. They had a very modern theme in mind for both exterior and interior of their project. The project started as excavating and clearing 7-9 feet of dirt allowing the driveway and new garage space. All utilities were relocated to clear area. Above this new garage space, there was the home for brand new dream kitchen for them. Trading their 10’x7′ galley kitchen with this 13’x30′ gourmet kitchen with 48″ stark blue professional gas range, a 5’x14′ center island equipped with prep sink, wine cooler, ice maker, microwave and lots of storage space. Front and back windows, 13′ cathedral ceiling offers lots of daylight and sparks up this beautiful kitchen. Tall Espresso cabinetry complimented with contrasting island, and breathtaking stone counter tops stands off through large opening from old home to new kitchen. The big load bearing wall and old kitchen was removed and opened up old home to new kitchen, all partition walls between kitchen, dining and living room were gone and given a total open floor plan. Replacing old carpet steps and wood rails with dark wood and cable yarn railing system bringing this home into new era. Entire first floor was now covered with wide plank exotic wood floors and a large scale porcelain tiles in kitchen floor. The entire exterior was replaced with cement board red planks siding and contrasting flat panel of grey boards bordered in with chrome trim. New front door, new Architectural shingles spruced up into 21st century home that they desired. A wide flat Mahogany with vertical glass garage doors with very modern looking exterior lights made this home stand tall in this neighborhood. We used glass backsplash tiles and pendent lights to create a upscale and very different look for this project. Furnished with ductless heating system and heated floors giving this family high level of comfort to through endless parties.

Working with Bruce Buffer was nothing shy of an absolutely incredible experience. He's such a kind soul first of all, but also one of the most interesting people I've ever had the opportunity to work with. His collectibles were endlessly intriguing. Sadly, when we first met his valued priced possessions were so cluttered on his shelves you couldn't even appreciate them. This job wasn't a huge makeover but it was so rewarding for us both when it was all done. It was a process of letting go from the beginning, sorting through what really had tangible and intangible value and then finding a way to display these special pieces in a way that he and everyone who walked into his home could appreciate. He loves the way he's able to tell the story behind each item now so effortlessly. Oh, and we also discovered a balcony space he wasn't even using right outside his office door! Spacious Modern White Design Brings New Light to Busy Kitchen For this busy family of Mclean, Virginia, converting a limited kitchen space to a modern kitchen space was a much desired and necessary upgrade. This kitchen space was limited by an adjacent laundry room and family room walls. By relocating the laundry room to the second floor, extra space opened up for the remodeled modern kitchen. Removal of the bearing wall between the kitchen and family room, allowed an increase of daylight into both spaces. The small windows of the previous kitchen and laundry room were replaced with a large picture window to allow maximum daylight to shine from the south side. Relocating the stove from the old island to a back wall and replacing the older island with a beautiful custom stained island provided extra seating capacity and expanded counter space for serving and cooking uses. Added to this gorgeous prize-winning kitchen were double stacked classic white cabinetry with glass display cabinets, along with lots of direct and indirect lighting and gorgeous pendant lights. A 48-inch gas oven range and large scale appliances contributed to this stunning modern kitchen space. New hardwood flooring with espresso low gloss finish created an endless look to the entire first floor space. Life is now grand with this new spacious kitchen space.

This grand mountain estate sits perched high above Chattanooga on Elder Mountain with a breathtaking view of endless rolling hills including the Tn. River. Newly constructed…it needed everything from evergreen structure to mature tree placement along the long winding drive…to masses of white blooming trees, shrubs and perennials. The somewhat stark white painted brick structure required a clean, simple and elegant palette of plants which included “Schip” Laurel and Boxwood hedging. “Annabelle” and “Limelight” and other panicular hydrangeas including Tree Formed added flower power and formality. “Little Gem” Magnolias helped anchor the building and will grow tall enough to create balance in years to come.

This Historical Home was built in the Columbia Country Club in 1925 and was ready for a new, modern kitchen which kept the traditional feel of the home. A previous sunroom addition created a dining room, but the original kitchen layout kept the two rooms divided. The kitchen was a small and cramped c-shape with a narrow door leading into the dining area. The kitchen and dining room were completely opened up, creating a long, galley style, open layout which maximized the space and created a very good flow. Dimensions In Wood worked in conjuction with the client’s architect and contractor to complete this renovation. Custom cabinets were built to use every square inch of the floorplan, with the cabinets extending all the way to the ceiling for the most storage possible. Our woodworkers even created a step stool, staining it to match the kitchen for reaching these high cabinets. The family already had a kitchen table and chairs they were happy with, so we refurbished them to match the kitchen’s new stain and paint color. Crown molding top the cabinet boxes and extends across the ceiling where they create a coffered ceiling, highlighting the beautiful light fixtures centered on a wood medallion. Columns were custom built to provide separation between the different sections of the kitchen, while also providing structural support. Our master craftsmen kept the original 1925 glass cabinet doors, fitted them with modern hardware, repainted and incorporated them into new cabinet boxes. TASK LED Lighting was added to this china cabinet, highlighting the family’s decorative dishes. Appliance Garage On one side of the kitchen we built an appliance garage with doors that slide back into the cabinet, integrated power outlets and door activated lighting. Beside this is a small Galley Workstation for beverage and bar service which has the Galley Bar Kit perfect for sliced limes and more. Baking Cabinet with Pocket Doors On the opposite side, a baking cabinet was built to house a mixer and all the supplies needed for creating confections. Automatic LED lights, triggered by opening the door, create a perfect baker’s workstation. Both pocket doors slide back inside the cabinet for maximum workspace, then close to hide everything, leaving a clean, minimal kitchen devoid of clutter. Super deep, custom drawers feature custom dividers beneath the baking cabinet. Then beneath the appliance garage another deep drawer has custom crafted produce boxes per the customer’s request. Central to the kitchen is a walnut accent island with a granite countertop and a Stainless Steel Galley Workstation and an overhang for seating. Matching bar stools slide out of the way, under the overhang, when not in use. A color matched outlet cover hides power for the island whenever appliances are needed during preparation. The Galley Workstation has several useful attachments like a cutting board, drying rack, colander holder, and more. Integrated into the stone countertops are a drinking water spigot, a soap dispenser, garbage disposal button and the pull out, sprayer integrated faucet. Directly across from the conveniently positioned stainless steel sink is a Bertazzoni Italia stove with 5 burner cooktop. A custom mosaic tile backsplash makes a beautiful focal point. Then, on opposite sides of the stove, columns conceal Rev-a-Shelf pull out towers which are great for storing small items, spices, and more. All outlets on the stone covered walls also sport dual USB outlets for charging mobile devices. Stainless Steel Whirlpool appliances throughout keep a consistent and clean look. The oven has a matching microwave above it which also works as a convection oven. Dual Whirlpool dishwashers can handle all the family’s dirty dishes. The flooring has black, marble tile inlays surrounded by ceramic tile, which are period correct for the age of this home, while still being modern, durable and easy to clean. Finally, just off the kitchen we also remodeled their bar and snack alcove. A small liquor cabinet, with a refrigerator and wine fridge sits opposite a snack bar and wine glass cabinets. Spacious Modern White Design Brings New Light to Busy Kitchen For this busy family of Mclean, Virginia, converting a limited kitchen space to a modern kitchen space was a much desired and necessary upgrade. This kitchen space was limited by an adjacent laundry room and family room walls. By relocating the laundry room to the second floor, extra space opened up for the remodeled modern kitchen. Removal of the bearing wall between the kitchen and family room, allowed an increase of daylight into both spaces. The small windows of the previous kitchen and laundry room were replaced with a large picture window to allow maximum daylight to shine from the south side.
