Bend Craftsmen Company LLC was founded in 2012 by Hank Hill. Bend Craftsmen Company operates as a residential and small commercial General Contractor and also offers carpentry, custom woodworking and project management services.
Bend Craftsmen Company’s mission is to provide a unique, creative approach to solving clients’ needs; listening to, visualizing and creating your dream space. Whether it’s building a piece of furniture, surprising your partner with a new “room makeover”, overseeing your whole house or partial house remodel, or building your new dream home, Bend Craftsmen Company wants to be there with you and provide a comfortable, pleasant experience along the way. We are dedicated to customer satisfaction and producing a high quality finished product in a timely, efficient manner.
Hank brings nearly 20 years of professional experience within the building industry. Growing up in South Carolina, Hank was surrounded by other family members who had a passion for building and woodworking. Whether helping his dad build a new coffee table for the family room or helping his uncles build a new deck on a beach house after a hurricane, Hank developed a sound sense of building and fine woodworking. This passion naturally led to working as a finish carpenter and eventually project manager for a Design/Build Remodeling Company in Charleston, SC. There, he also volunteered with the Charleston Stage Company, building sets for performing arts productions and attended the American College of Building Arts, fine-tuning specific craftsman skills. In 2007, Hank couldn’t resist his draw to the Pacific Northwest and moved to Bend for the small town living, outdoor splendor and great community. Hank is certified by Earth Advantage as a Sustainable Homes Professional and is a regional leader in sustainable, energy efficient building practices. When not building something, Hank enjoys snowboarding, kayaking and heading to the coast to catch a few waves. Hank is active in both the paddling and arts communities in Bend, and has donated time to the 2nd Street Theatre building sets. Hank is surrounded by his loving wife, Amber, wonderful daughter, Aidaleen, and dog, Wyatt.
Are you looking for a General Contractor in Bend, Oregon who has a personalized approach to visualizing and creating your dream space? Bend Craftsmen Company is here for you.

Our clients purchased a condo in the heart of Chicago after deciding it was time to move from their longtime suburban home and embrace their dream of living downtown. Leaving their family home where their children grew up meant that our work needed to do two things for the family: help make the most of their new city life and create a warm and welcoming home for their two college-aged children.
We used grays, browns and creams accentuated with pops of orange and yellow to transform the condo into a warm, modern space. We sourced unconventional light fixtures and custom rugs for each room, as well as an assortment of clean-lined furniture including modern classics like a black Eames lounge. Each room features original art—everything from a three-dimensional installation to abstract paintings and photography.
Modern amenities, such as power-operated window treatments and an electric fireplace, were seamlessly integrated into the home, ensuring that the client can enjoy their space with a flip of a switch. The personalized, comfortable atmosphere meant that the clients live and entertain with effortlessness and joy.

For this project, the goals were straight forward - a low energy, low maintenance home that would allow the "60 something couple” time and money to enjoy all their interests. Accessibility was also important since this is likely their last home. In the end the style is minimalist, but the raw, natural materials add texture that give the home a warm, inviting feeling.
The home has R-67.5 walls, R-90 in the attic, is extremely air tight (0.4 ACH) and is oriented to work with the sun throughout the year. As a result, operating costs of the home are minimal. The HVAC systems were chosen to work efficiently, but not to be complicated. They were designed to perform to the highest standards, but be simple enough for the owners to understand and manage.
The owners spend a lot of time camping and traveling and wanted the home to capture the same feeling of freedom that the outdoors offers. The spaces are practical, easy to keep clean and designed to create a free flowing space that opens up to nature beyond the large triple glazed Passive House windows. Built-in cubbies and shelving help keep everything organized and there is no wasted space in the house - Enough space for yoga, visiting family, relaxing, sculling boats and two home offices.
The most frequent comment of visitors is how relaxed they feel. This is a result of the unique connection to nature, the abundance of natural materials, great air quality, and the play of light throughout the house.
The exterior of the house is simple, but a striking reflection of the local farming environment. The materials are low maintenance, as is the landscaping. The siting of the home combined with the natural landscaping gives privacy and encourages the residents to feel close to local flora and fauna.

Our Gold Coast shopfitters created an outstanding cafe fitout for these small business owners. This being the second of two cafes, the owners of Kaffe Co. wanted something a little different to their original space, opening up the kitchen and front counter area to allow customers to see right into the kitchen and preparation spaces.
The client’s hope for the fitout was to have all the space well utilised to allow for a full kitchen while catering for plenty of dine-in customers. The cafe design was all about creating an inviting and relaxing space for customers to sit and enjoy a meal on a break from shopping.
Our Gold Coast shopfitters worked around many other builds happening in the new shopping centre at the time which called for a high level of organisation and some problem solving to ensure the smooth operation of the build.
The cafe offers a clean, minimalistic style with polished concrete floors, Hamptons inspired white timber walls and a beautiful timber bench top – all finished off with on-trend copper light fixtures creating a comfortable and pleasant eatery for shoppers in the midst of a busy arena. The cafe owners are now all set with a fresh new look – a space ready to be filled with coffee aromas, delicious foods and plenty of chatter!

Leather Description: Artisan Leathers beautifully evoke this time worn quality, unique to every individual piece, like the originals. To pure aniline leather crusts, already fully and carefully upholstered to the piece, a base color is created with multiple applications of waxes and oils, hand-worked by the leather Artisan. After drying, this craftsman then carefully builds-up the finish with an expert’s eye, and touch, to achieve an aged patina in just the right places to reflect the aged qualities only time, wear, and frequent care could have accomplished naturally. Every individual piece upholstered with Artisan Leather finishing methods is first beautifully built to the highest standards of quality. The leather is then hand-colored and aged to bespeak the loving touch of time, providing a quality antique appearance to a beautiful new piece of quality leather furniture.
