Our goal was to transform the living room into a bright and casual living space; a place to entertain guests while also being comfortable and functional to the homeowners. To highlight room’s architecture, we installed additional lighting, removed shutters and utilized a neutral color palate, incorporating textural flax and creams alongside crisp whites. We installed a textural ivory grasscloth wall covering and new window treatments, which open the beautiful views to the exterior. The room was kept casual with textural linen, cotton and silk fabrics and color was selectively incorporated into the room with classic navy, periwinkle and grey fabrics, area rug, and accessories. A Thoughtful Condo Makeover for a Young Chef in the Making This project began with a middle-aged couple looking to refresh their one-bedroom condo for their young adult son. The unit had been a rental for years and wasn’t well-suited to his needs. The kitchen had an awkward, oversized island, the closets lacked functionality, and the overall look was outdated—cream walls, mismatched narrow flooring, and beige tiles throughout. The bathroom also needed serious attention, with grimy, moldy finishes. After a tough renovation experience years ago in their other home, the family knew they needed someone they could trust. Having worked with Andrei before, they turned to Sosna with full confidence. While the general layout remained similar, some key changes made a big impact. The oversized island was replaced with a peninsula, which opened up the space and provided extra storage and a longer counter surface. New custom closet organizers were designed specifically around the son's lifestyle, and the bedroom closet got a set of new doors. The existing ensuite, unfortunately, fell short of providing either. For the wife, the leaky deck-mount tub was a major disappointment, as she deeply cherished her long, hot baths. The husband, meanwhile, was eager to replace the outdated and cumbersome toilet/bidet combo with a modern, single-piece smart toilet – a desire for both convenience and a touch of modern luxury. The shower stall was cramped, dark, and plagued by mold, while the large double vanity, despite its size, lacked functional storage. It simply wasn't the relaxing oasis they deserved. Addressing Their Concerns: We understood that undertaking a renovation can be stressful, especially when you're not going to be on-site for much of the process.
