Mishal literally translates to lantern. Ideal for small spaces and particularly suitable as a set with the mini nur. Handmade in Marrakech, Morocco by artisans El Arbi and Mohammed, it takes 2 days to create each piece. Mishal is available in copper, brass or silver and is finished with a seal that prevents oxidation and therefore does not require polishing.

Luxe pour Maison Salmon Leather, is a new and exciting material! Our eco-friendly leather is made by repurposing a by-prodcut of the salmon industry; salmon skin, which is usually discarded. Salmon skin leather has some truly unique properties, not only aesthetically but physically as well. It is a very strong & flexible material (more so than cow leather), and it has an amazing 3D texture, which has been compared to snake skin leather, except that salmon leather has a softer suede like feel to it. At Luxe pour Maison, our mission is to practice and promote the use of sustainable innovation as a process for cultural, environmental and economic development. Sustainable design is our core competency and the common thread uniting every partner and activity we undertake. We pride ourselves on following fair-trade principals, which create a synergy between local culture and industry; that respects local cultural values and stimulates ethical economic growth in the Chilean Patagonia, a pristine and untouched environment known for its unique beauty.

This client was so much fun to design for. Their project was all about color, texture and creating a master bedroom and guest bedroom that compliments their passion for traveling and eclectic style. We created a seating area in the master bedroom where the family can gather at night to read and spend time quality time. Their desire for deep color and bold pattern allowed us to create a casual space that is both warm and inviting at the end of a long day. Guests often visit and stay for a bit. They wanted to give their family and friends the same cozy feel in their guest bedroom. We were able to use a combination of patterns, textures and colors with our custom-made bedding and pillows. We also love to repurpose where we can and painted furniture is a great place to start. The depth of color used here is a true reflection of our clients' warm and friendly personality that says "welcome to our home." This design scheme blends femininity, sophistication, and the bling of Art Deco with earthy, natural accents. An amoeba-shaped rug breaks the linearity in the living room that’s furnished with a lady bug-red sleeper sofa with gold piping and another curvy sofa. These are juxtaposed with chairs that have a modern Danish flavor, and the side tables add an earthy touch. The dining area can be used as a work station as well and features an elliptical-shaped table with gold velvet upholstered chairs and bubble chandeliers. A velvet, aubergine headboard graces the bed in the master bedroom that’s painted in a subtle shade of silver. Abstract murals and vibrant photography complete the look. Kelly: “Really all I changed was the wall design. They had initially done a lot more formal, less wood with more intricate designs and I never liked it. I felt terrible about it but then that episode of Fixer Upper came on and it was like Kismet. That’s it, ship lap everywhere.” ************************************************************************* Close up of painted tongue and groove siding showing detail of the micro-bevel pattern.
