If you’ve ever left your usual daily routine to experience the accommodation, entertainment or global landmarks on offer, you’ve experienced the attraction tourism holds. And it is hard to resist the travel bug if it has first bitten. With so many appealing destinations just waiting to be explored, it is hard to stay at home. Global landmarks There are some global landmarks that are on everyone’s wish list. As a matter of fact, you will probably see most of them when you visit all the travel sites. Starting in Africa, there is the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx in Egypt, symbols of Egypt’s ancient dynasty. Over in India, you have to go to the Taj Mahal, welcoming travelers as a monument of love. Staying in Asia, you should also journey to the Great Wall of China and admire the cultural treasures in Angkor in Cambodia. Lastly, there is the Potala Palace at the top of the “Red Hill”. It is Tibet’s treasured historic, religious and cultural site. The global landmarks in Europe include the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Big Ben in England. In the Americas, you have to see the Grand Canyon with its majestic sweep down a never-ending ravine and the awe-inspiring Niagara Falls. If Metropolis is more your style, you should check all travel sites for information on New York and at least visit the Statue of Liberty. This is a special type of joinery used by architects to enhance the aestetic design of a project as the joinery acts as a light filter providing varying projections of light throughout the day. The architect chose not to apply any colour, leaving Accoya in its natural grey state therefore complimenting the beautiful surroundings of the project. Accoya was also chosen due to its incredible durability to withstand Brazil’s intense heat and humidity.   Free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW   Our clients and their three teenage kids had outgrown the footprint of their existing home and felt they needed some space to spread out. They came in with a couple of sets of drawings from different architects that were not quite what they were looking for, so we set out to really listen and try to provide a design that would meet their objectives given what the space could offer. We started by agreeing that a bump out was the best way to go and then decided on the size and the floor plan locations of the mudroom, powder room and butler pantry which were all part of the project. We also planned for an eat-in banquette that is neatly tucked into the corner and surrounded by windows providing a lovely spot for daily meals. The kitchen itself is L-shaped with the refrigerator and range along one wall, and the new sink along the exterior wall with a large window overlooking the backyard. A large island, with seating for five, houses a prep sink and microwave. A new opening space between the kitchen and dining room includes a butler pantry/bar in one section and a large kitchen pantry in the other. Through the door to the left of the main sink is access to the new mudroom and powder room and existing attached garage. White inset cabinets, quartzite countertops, subway tile and nickel accents provide a traditional feel. The gray island is a needed contrast to the dark wood flooring. Last but not least, professional appliances provide the tools of the trade needed to make this one hardworking kitchen. Inspiration for a transitional home design remodel in Boston

Part 3 of a multi leveled garden for a family with unique and colorful taste. The son's room opens onto a blazing hot windy deck that was so exposed it was unusable and well, yucky. (See before picture.) We added saturated color to walls and raised beds, painted a graphic jungle themed mural (courtesy of me), and planted with a drought tolerant jungle palette. We also mixed in berries, a passion vine and a few other treats per the son's request. Such fun to see this come alive; even better to hear it has become a prime destination for the guy in charge.
