In this spirit, Christophe Delcourt aimed to explore for his furniture the possible interactions between two emblematic materials of Roche Bobois' history, wood and stone. Both are sourced locally since the workshop is in Urbino, at the heart of the peninsula.

Our new pocket neighborhood, El Rincon, meaning "nook" or "corner", embodies what we want to bring to Durango. An in-town, unique place, close to schools, trails, and the Animas River. This sculpture, which is nestled at the entrance, is a landmark for our community. We hope people will gather and explore. Created by local artist Jeff Wise.

These first-time parents wanted to create a sanctuary in their home, a place to retreat and enjoy some self-care after a long day. They were inspired by the simplicity and natural elements found in wabi-sabi design so we took those basic elements and created a spa-like getaway.

Luxury, comfort, and functionality merge in this AirBNB project we completed in just 2 short weeks. Navigating a tight budget, we supplemented the homeowner’s existing personal items and local artwork with great finds from facebook marketplace, vintage + antique shops, and the local salvage yard. The Birdhouse project is a summer home located on the lake near Deep Creek Resort. The project scope was to design a home for entertaining friends and family year around . The home embraces the topography of the site to maximum views of the lake and enhances solar gains in the winter months. The project uses local sandstone which contours with the land to provide the base of the home. The siding is western red cedar shakes which provides a soft counterpoint to the sandstone. The idea of texture is further explored on the inside with the cherry wood and granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom areas.

The owners requested a Private Resort that catered to their love for entertaining friends and family, a place where 2 people would feel just as comfortable as 42. Located on the western edge of a Wisconsin lake, the site provides a range of natural ecosystems from forest to prairie to water, allowing the building to have a more complex relationship with the lake - not merely creating large unencumbered views in that direction. The gently sloping site to the lake is atypical in many ways to most lakeside lots - as its main trajectory is not directly to the lake views - allowing for focus to be pushed in other directions such as a courtyard and into a nearby forest.
The biggest challenge was accommodating the large scale gathering spaces, while not overwhelming the natural setting with a single massive structure. Our solution was found in breaking down the scale of the project into digestible pieces and organizing them in a Camp-like collection of elements:
- Main Lodge: Providing the proper entry to the Camp and a Mess Hall
- Bunk House: A communal sleeping area and social space.
- Party Barn: An entertainment facility that opens directly on to a swimming pool & outdoor room.
- Guest Cottages: A series of smaller guest quarters.
- Private Quarters: The owners private space that directly links to the Main Lodge.
These elements are joined by a series green roof connectors, that merge with the landscape and allow the out buildings to retain their own identity. This Camp feel was further magnified through the materiality - specifically the use of Doug Fir, creating a modern Northwoods setting that is warm and inviting. The use of local limestone and poured concrete walls ground the buildings to the sloping site and serve as a cradle for the wood volumes that rest gently on them. The connections between these materials provided an opportunity to add a delicate reading to the spaces and re-enforce the camp aesthetic.
The oscillation between large communal spaces and private, intimate zones is explored on the interior and in the outdoor rooms. From the large courtyard to the private balcony - accommodating a variety of opportunities to engage the landscape was at the heart of the concept.

The Space
THE AIRSTREAM INTERNATIONAL CCD 25'ss
is a Christopher Deem Limited Edition.
Set in the beautiful mountain range 'Sierra de las Nieves' in Southern Spain - this is an outdoor adventure you're not likely to forget!!
Offering all the comforts of home with the luxury of a 5 star hotelroom - the airstream is an oasis of luxury in the middle of Nature. Modelled on the original 1930's classic, she's the perfect combination of retro nostalgia and contemporary design. The interior is sleek and stylish, and is equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your glamping experience to the full. Facilities include: fully fitted kitchen with oven/hob/microwave/fridge-freezer; shower room with wc & washbasin; bedroom with cosy double bed; dining area; living area with comfy sofas and flat-screen TV/DVD; i-pod/i-phone docking station, CD player with surround-sound stereo; Wi-Fi internet access; and air con and heating. But perhaps the 'cherry on the cake' is the outdoor plunge pool - the ultimate in glamorous camping!! Laying in the pool or next to it on a warm summer's night as you gaze at the stars is a memory which is sure to remain..
The airstream is perfectly suited both for singles and couples - and provides the ideal setting for romantic or solitary retreat. The surrounding scenery is stunning, and there are plenty of nature trails and treks to be explored. Owner Trevor lives close by, and is always happy to lend a hand with trip planning and advice etc.
A 20 minute walk down the mountain track will lead to the nearby village of 'Alozaina' - a typically Spanish 'pueblo blanco' which has retained much of its rustic charm. Life is slow here, and not to be rushed! There are several tapas bars, cafes, and a couple of decent restaurants, as well shops and even a small supermarket.
Further afield, there is much to explore. Nearby excursions include the historical town of Ronda - and the oldest bullring in Spain, the elegant city of Malaga, Seville, Marbella & jet-setting Puerto Banus, and the picturesque 'pueblo blanco' of Ojen. Car hire is essential in order to fully enjoy the area.
If you have any questions about the glamping experience, or the airstream itself - please ask. I have a good knowledge of the local area, and a deep love for the mountain - affectionately known to the locals as 'magic mountain'! You'll understand why when you visit - there is indeed something special and perhaps even magical about this place, just waiting to be discovered...
I look forward to hearing from you!
