This amazing master bathroom features tile from AKDO and Artistic Tile. Bath hardware and fixtures are by Kohler. Mirrors are custom. Vanity is by Kohler with retrofitted Asian hardware. I wanted to continue a Medieval motif (in keeping with the rest of the home), so I found this unique and extraordinarily beautiful mosaic, to create a central focal wall and a feature wall over the vanity. I also wanted to incorporate round shapes to break up the hard angles of the room, with custom-made mirrors continuing that shape. The end result is a clean and modern space that still feels warm and comfortable but really amps up the modern feel of the space.

Orris Maple Hardwood– Unlike other wood floors, the color and beauty of these are unique, in the True Hardwood flooring collection color goes throughout the surface layer without using stains or dyes. The results are truly stunning and extraordinarily beautiful, with distinctive features and benefits.

This wide plank walnut flooring is milled from fully matured and responsibly sourced logs that are plain-sawn through and through using a 60-inch circular saw blade – imparting its rustic saw-mark texture. Walnut features a rich blend of coffee-colored browns with occasional touches of caramel from its light sapwood. It offers an extraordinarily tight grain pattern, sound knots and natural checking.

The new canopies provide protection from rain and sun while inviting more natural light to the interior. A custom-built bench and planters make an inviting and functional mini-front porch. The reconfigured path and drive create a clear flow to the front of the home—and improve safety, as do oversize house numbers and recessed lighting for night navigation. We chose materials and engineered solutions to ensure none of the past problems with standing water, peeling paint, or rot would occur: extraordinarily hard woods, metal, and a carefully designed hidden drainage system. The design upgraded the master bedroom window view, which had been blocked by the portico roof.

The luxurious look of the rich onyx colored plaster and the dark gray tile of the pool against the stark white of the deck draws the eye as any good focal point should. The dark tones in combination with the water being level with the deck creates an extraordinarily reflective surface. Photo credit: ishot.ca
