This Paradise Valley modern estate was selected Arizona Foothills Magazine's Showcase Home in 2004. The home backs to a preserve and fronts to a majestic Paradise Valley skyline. Architect CP Drewett designed all interior millwork, specifying exotic veneers to counter the other interior finishes making this a sumptuous feast of pattern and texture. The home is organized along a sweeping interior curve and concludes in a collection of destination type spaces that are each meticulously crafted. The warmth of materials and attention to detail made this showcase home a success to those with traditional tastes as well as a favorite for those favoring a more contemporary aesthetic. The tub was eliminated in favor of a large walk-in shower featuring double shower heads, multiple shower sprays, a steam unit, two wall-mounted teak seats, a curbless glass enclosure and a minimal infinity drain. Additional floor space in the design allowed us to create a separate water closet. A pocket door replaces a standard door so as not to interfere with either the open shelving next to the vanity or the water closet entrance. We kept the location of the skylight and added a new window for additional light and views to the yard. We responded to the client’s wish for a modern industrial aesthetic by featuring a large metal-clad double vanity and shelving units, wood porcelain wall tile, and a white glass vanity top. Special features include an electric towel warmer, medicine cabinets with integrated lighting, and a heated floor. Industrial style pendants flank the mirrors, completing the symmetry.

Concept and Backstory for this Trilogy Partners and bhh Partners Design:
This home, though built recently, has a long history. It’s an old story about a family with a hardworking father and a loving mother and three kids who lived in Denver, but loved the mountains more than anything. About 1908 they decided to buy an old sheep station outside of Breckenridge. At first they lived in the simple shepherd’s cabin they referred to as the “Station House.” As the children grew, so did the family’s passion for horses, ranching, hunting, and fishing and the great outdoors, and it wasn’t long before everyone in the family began to refer to the Station House as home. Denver just became Denver, and it was certainly not where their hearts longed to be. A heavy bell large enough to be heard for several miles, which became known as the “Dinner Bell,” was installed by the front door to call the kids home for supper. After a few years, the family built a pole barn for the horses and a carriage, and then it became the place where they parked theModel T.
About 1923 the eldest son returned from college. His first duty was to supervise the construction of “The Manor House.” Now that mother and father had the time to spend not just summer, but most of the year in the valley, it made sense that they build a real house. The Station House could be used by guests. The son had a lot to do and not much time because the house had to be finished in time for a very important event. A wedding, his wedding, was to happen in the spring, barely a year away.So the Manor House, built with local timbers and many local hands, rose up between the old Station House and the Pole Barn. And there was a first marriage at the house. As the family continued to grow,it seemed the Manor House had to grow with them and over the years, it reached out to either side until finally, it was connected by a long front porch to the Station House, just to the south, and the Pole Barn just to the north. The dinner Bell was installed beneath the gable in the front porch because children still needed to be called home from the hills.
Fifty years passed and the fact that dozens of mothers, fathers, children, and grand children and even great grandchildren spread all over the country still called it Home didn’t seem strange to any of them. For this was where they came to share the most important things with the rest of their family. They came in the summers and winters, stayed sometimes a week, often longer, but at least once a year, if not a couple times more. They came for the most memorable days of their lives, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, and sometimes for no reason other than they needed to be with their kin. On those saddest days, when one had passed away, they gathered to remember at the Manor House. They would bury their own in the family plot where the sheep once graced in a meadow that the elk favored in winter. There would be hugs, and tears. But for all, it was far better being sad ere than anywhere else.
And now, a hundred years have passed since a family of five first set for in the valley. And the Manor House, the Station House, and Pole Barn all deserve a little sprucing up in time for another important event. For in the spring comes wedding number 32.

These are some premium redwood custom wine racks in Chicago. They were left unfinished, in favor of a natural appearance.
Redwood racks are highly sought-after, known for their fine grain and rosy hue.
Specifically, this is a high reveal display rack; it showcases our client's most prized wines beautifully. It stores the bottles at a 15-degree angle to keep the cork moist. Drying out of cor results in shrinkage and brittleness, resulting in wine oxidation.
A lighting fixture was installed above the display row to illuminate the bottles beautifully.

This young couple was ready to make some changes to their master bedroom. They already laid a great foundation for me: beautiful wall color, carpet and trim. We just needed to update their furnishings and make this space feel more like them. They requested a bedroom that was more classic than trendy and a space that feels relaxing and spa-like. I started with the big pieces. I know they liked the light, upholstered bed look, which is awesome because I get so many clients who shy away from this option for fear of it getting dirty. Next up were the case pieces: dresser, night stands, high boy. I know a lot of designers who favor designing a bedroom with non-matching sets, but in this case, I thought opting for matching nightstands and dressers was the most classic choice and will stand the test of time best. They also a requested an area for the wive to do her make up and hair separate from the bathroom with ample light. I found a vanity, replaced the matching stool with an accent chair in a grey ikat print and used a pair of existing lamps. Extra seating is provided at the end of the bed on a tufted grey bench. The inverted pleat drapes are custom made with black out lining. Accessories and wall art were added to infuse personality and warm up the space.

Our clients had a cramped and outdated kitchen that lacked flow. They envisioned a space the family could share, including an eat-in kitchen with an island. Their small master bathroom also needed a facelift, more counter space, and storage options. They desired both spaces to be clean with a modern aesthetic.
Thoughtful architectural planning dramatically opened the space in this home to encompass the kitchen, dining, and hallway areas into one unified expanse. JRP removed the soffit and pushed back the appliance wall into the hallway to create the space needed for the central island-a place to hang out while dinner is being made, but also double as an additional food prep area. The cabinetry, along with the quartz backsplash and countertop, made for a clean, modern look.
Upstairs, the master bathroom transformed into a clutter-free zen zone. The tiny closet and outdated vanity were removed and replaced by an integrated counter space with white oak cabinetry, drawers, and open space shelving. The dated round-framed mirrors were swapped out in favor of one large, singular mirror.
The most used areas in this home are now comfortable and polished with surfaces that are both simple and easy to clean. This remodel design embraces modern living at its best. The focus on clean, uncluttered lines, light timber elements, and white countertops came together to give our clients the minimalist esthetics they were looking for.

Standard hardware-store lighting was switched out in favor of a brass-and-crystal chandelier and—in the galley-style kitchen—a ceiling mounted fixture. We chose a super-affordable small-scale Ikea love seat and matching ottoman, and dressed it up with Jonathan Adler pillows. A small Lucite bar (behind the couch) includes barware, glassware, and all tools needed to mix up a good drink.
