A custom-built pull-out drawer houses a pair of stainless steel bowls—one for food and one for water—providing an elegant and practical feeding station for pets. When not in use, the drawer can be easily tucked away to maintain the kitchen’s clean and seamless aesthetic. The drawer front, finished in the same beautiful white cabinetry with brushed brass hardware, perfectly blends into the surrounding built-ins, offering a streamlined and clutter-free look. Positioned conveniently near the door, this built-in pet station showcases thoughtful design that considers every member of the family—including the four-legged ones! The sweet pup enjoying this feature adds a warm, personal touch, highlighting how great design enhances both form and function.

In this stunning kitchen remodel, we installed glass-front, birch built-ins which provide generous room for storage and display. This kitchen abounds with innovative cabinet design features that maximize space and increase utility. Among those are a spice pullout, pet feeding station, and trash/recycle pullout. The customers also selected two large appliance lifts that do the heavy lifting for them and allow their gadgets to remain plugged in while stowed. The centerpiece of this kitchen is the 48-inch gas range; it pulls out all the stops, featuring 8 burners, 2 ovens and a griddle! Visually speaking, the bold granite countertops and vivid blue lower cabinets are balanced by the soft wood tones of the remaining cabinetry…a striking combination!

Inspiration for a transitional home design remodel in Seattle

Lovely pair of grain feed sack pillows from Europe. We custom-made these out of the original antique feed sacks, with zipper closure and overlocked edges. The fronts are a soft pale oatmeal color with pale Swedish blue stripes and original monograming. The backs are of antique French linen, a heavy weight, very soft and also an oatmeal color. All items have been pre washed, clean and ready to use. These printed sacks were individually marked over a century ago, using a tar based stenciling with last and first names of the owner, sometimes his title or profession, the village or hamlet he lived or worked in and usually the year. Not only is the fabric antique or vintage, but the stencil, the calligraphy is original to the product, making it a more rare and valuable textile. Dimensions: 20 x 20 Includes down feather insert.

Hardy water lilies (shown here) that float on the water’s surface and have a short blooming period can withstand the cold winter months nicely. Lotuses also can withstand the cold winter months because they bloom in summer and go dormant in winter. Note that frost kills water hyacinths; water lettuce, which fights algae, should be wintered in a warm spot that is well lighted as they will not survive in the pond over winter. www.deckandpatio.com

It was a very small kitchen in a 100 years old house. We have removed a load bearing wall separating Kitchen from Dining Rm. We closed off existing window to allow more cabinetry and relocated the sink and HVAC feeding upstairs. Exterior walls were insulated, windows and doors replaced. Part of this project was refinishing of stairs and all existing trim (baseboards and casings). We tried to combine modern design with original trim that had sentimental value to our client. Kitchen cabinets were custom built. We had many challenges working on this project starting from repairing sagged floors and asbestos removal to saving existing trim and relocating existing heating that was feeding upstairs. It was well worth the effort because the result is a big and beautiful Kitchen and renovated main floor.

PHASE 2 - Dining room and deck addition - The half bath / laundry room / mud room were done at the same time. Laundry facilities are behind the double doors, opposite the sink and toilet. The utility sink serves the bathroom, laundry and pet feeding area. Photography - Cabin 40 Images

Fabulous farmhouse kitchen designed for Kirkfields Equestrian Centre at Blidworth. Our client wanted a live in kitchen area for her and her dogs so we included dog feed station and a special area made for her dogs within the island. Granite worktops gave the room a superb finish and the icing on the cake was the wine glass light we found for above the island.
