Culver City Residential Retreat: Nestled in a serene residential enclave, this project in Culver City is all about extending your home's living spaces and creating a warm welcome.
The front yard undergoes a complete transformation, becoming a cozy reception area. With fountains, swales, decorative boulders, a sitting area, and carefully chosen plants accentuated by artful lighting, it's a true showstopper.
A new driveway enhances the curb appeal.
In the backyard, the living area expands with a tiled patio covered by a wooden structure and retractable textile cover. Here, you'll find a dining table and a dedicated play zone for children with slides and soft flooring. The use of ornamental pots adds a touch of sophistication.

It all started with a frantic phone call. Susan's husband came home with a huge flat screen tv and she didn't know what or where or how she was suppose to do with it. One thing led to another and a full family room majeiver ensued. Susan loved Mid Century Modern only didn't know that's what it was called, she also loved BLACK, but tended toward too much of it. We added the tv console, recessed lighting, mid century modern Chandelier, black and white area rug, Moroccan black and white, leather pouf, round black leather chair, replaced her flat black window panels with Upholstered Cornices, and new custom pillows, oh and please note, the tv isn't hung on the wall. Oh and the plant and stand,

"MIDNIGHT AT THE OASIS, SING YOUR CAMEL TO BED." That's what I always thought she said in this song. Just NOW when I looked up the lyrics, I see that I had it wrong ALL of these years!! HAHAH!
Just like that song "Just Call Me Angel In the Morning, Just Brushed My Teeth Before You Leave Me, Baby!"
HAHAHAH!!!,....it is "just brushed my CHEEK!"
TURNING A MUNDANE BATHROOM INTO A TENTED OASIS FANTASY!
This client was an extremely FUN client! She wanted her bathroom to be a fantasy of tented fun. My suggestion was to have a palm tree as the "center weight bearing column", holding up the tent where the split in the ceiling was. Then I painted the "tasselled cornice" of the tent going around all of the walls. There are other walls that are not seen here, but they have the same palm trunk with ropes like a circus tent attached to the "stakes in the ground".
I enjoyed this mural project immensely! This client gave me artistic license to just RUN WITH IT!
" But you won't need no harem, honey
When I'm by your side
And you won't need no camel, no no
When I take you for a ride
Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, till the evening ends
Till the evening ends
Midnight at the oasis
Send your camel to bed
Got shadows painting our faces
And traces of romance in our heads"
What kind of lyrical fantasy could I create for your own OASIS?

AS A FINISHING TOUCH, WE WOULDN'T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT A FLORIDIAN GECKO CRAWLING OVER THE DOORWAY, CHASING A FLY.
JUST PUTTING FINISHING TOUCHES...LADDER STILL IN THE PICTURE.
THIS SHOWS THE SPLIT IN THE CEILING WHICH I HAD TO WORK WITH TO STILL SHOW A "TENTED" CEILING.

Nursery and child bedrooms simply and sweetly designed for transitional living. Unpretentious and inviting, this space was designed for a newborn until she will grow up and move to another room in the home.
This light filled, dusty rose nursery was curated for a long awaited baby girl. The room was designed with warm wood tones, soft neutral textiles, and specially curated artwork. The space includes a performance rug, sustainable furniture, soft textiles, framed artwork prints, and a mix of metals.

This Carefree, Arizona home has some of the best mountain views.
