This builder-house was purchased by a young couple with high taste and style. In order to personalize and elevate it, each room was given special attention down to the smallest details. Inspiration was gathered from multiple European influences, especially French style. The outcome was a home that makes you never want to leave.

We completely gut renovated this pre-war Tribeca apartment but kept some of it's charm and history in tact! The building, which was built in the early 1900's, was home to different executive office operations and the original hallways had a beautiful and intricate mosaic floor pattern. To that point we decided to preserve the existing mosaic flooring and incorporate it into the new design. The open concept kitchen with cantilevered dining table top keeps the area feeling light and bright, casual and not stuffy. Additionally, the custom designed swing arm pendant light helps marry the dining table top area to that of the island.

Our clients' favorite appliance is their espresso machine, so incorporating a permanent ome for it in the new design was a must! We were able to create a recessed nook across from the kitchen by taking some space out of their existing laundry room. The niche is enhanced by the custom sized Dandy ceramic tile, designed to perfectly match the kitchen cabinet color.

This quaint kitchen captures exactly what the homeowners wanted.
We designed the layout to fit their personality and lifestyle and gave them the perfect harmony of beauty and function.

The farmhouse sink is an iconic feature of a country kitchen.
This homeowner wanted the farm sink to go along with his casual country kitchen and he loved how the classic white porcelain sink was complemented by the Caves Millwork custom crafted sage green maple cabinets.

These homeowners are very active in the kitchen and they wanted a kitchen that provided maximum space and sturdiness.
The cabinets are natural cherry with a flat sheen and oil rubbed brass handles and knobs.
The countertops and appliances provide a nice pop of color from the cherry. There is plenty of storage for the family and the layout provides enough space for them to fix meals together.

Middlefork was retained to update and revitalize this North Shore home to a family of six.
The primary goal of this project was to update and expand the home's small, eat-in kitchen. The existing space was gutted and a 1,500-square-foot addition was built to house a gourmet kitchen, connected breakfast room, fireside seating, butler's pantry, and a small office.
The family desired nice, timeless spaces that were also durable and family-friendly. As such, great consideration was given to the interior finishes. The 10' kitchen island, for instance, is a solid slab of white velvet quartzite, selected for its ability to withstand mustard, ketchup and finger-paint. There are shorter, walnut extensions off either end of the island that support the children's involvement in meal preparation and crafts. Low-maintenance Atlantic Blue Stone was selected for the perimeter counters.
The scope of this phase grew to include re-trimming the front façade and entry to emphasize the Georgian detailing of the home. In addition, the balance of the first floor was gutted; existing plumbing and electrical systems were updated; all windows were replaced; two powder rooms were updated; a low-voltage distribution system for HDTV and audio was added; and, the interior of the home was re-trimmed. Two new patios were also added, providing outdoor areas for entertaining, dining and cooking.

This Australian-inspired new construction was a successful collaboration between homeowner, architect, designer and builder. The home features a Henrybuilt kitchen, butler's pantry, private home office, guest suite, master suite, entry foyer with concealed entrances to the powder bathroom and coat closet, hidden play loft, and full front and back landscaping with swimming pool and pool house/ADU.

The modern scullery (back kitchen) off of the main kitchen area provides a convenient spot to prep food away from the open entertaining area of the home. It features a second dishwasher, double ovens, a warming drawer and a large prep sink. Porcelain slabs cover the backsplash and the countertops to create a consistent flow with the main kitchen area. Dark wood cabinets feature "push to open" hidden hardware on the lower cabinet doors and finger grooves to open the drawers and upper cabinet doors. A walk-in pantry (not shown) off of the scullery provides ample storage for canned and boxed food and tall cabinetry for storing cleaning supplies such as brooms and mops.

We designed the layers of lighting in this kitchen to provide bright task lighting over the counter top, interior lighting to display the homeowner's dishware in the glass cabinets, accent lighting along the toe kick area, and ambient lighting underneath the counter top's over hang on the peninsula.
