Study room - contemporary built-in desk medium tone wood floor study room idea in New York

Built from the ground up on 80 acres outside Dallas, Oregon, this new modern ranch house is a balanced blend of natural and industrial elements. The custom home beautifully combines various materials, unique lines and angles, and attractive finishes throughout. The property owners wanted to create a living space with a strong indoor-outdoor connection. We integrated built-in sky lights, floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted ceilings to attract ample, natural lighting. The master bathroom is spacious and features an open shower room with soaking tub and natural pebble tiling. There is custom-built cabinetry throughout the home, including extensive closet space, library shelving, and floating side tables in the master bedroom. The home flows easily from one room to the next and features a covered walkway between the garage and house. One of our favorite features in the home is the two-sided fireplace – one side facing the living room and the other facing the outdoor space. In addition to the fireplace, the homeowners can enjoy an outdoor living space including a seating area, in-ground fire pit and soaking tub.

Simple bar made more functional for the clients with the floating shelves with the wine glass racks under them. This allowed them to display the numerous styles of wine glasses they have collected.

Inspiration for a transitional staircase remodel in Houston

The homeowners wanted to update their dated bath while preserving the existing hand-painted tiles. Material Selection: The new bath features DeWils bamboo cabinets with Taurus Door styles. They match well with the Cambria Fairbourne countertops and 12”x24” wall tile and Playa Beige shower floor tiles. Photography by: John Moery

Inspiration for a contemporary wooden open staircase remodel

One challenge the team faced was the design of the floating staircase, where they had to ensure all sides of the stairs were even and equally attractive. The stairs are supported by two pieces of steel, while the hand rails are steel framed with glass. This beautiful staircase led to the roof deck.

Conceptually the Clark Street remodel began with an idea of creating a new entry. The existing home foyer was non-existent and cramped with the back of the stair abutting the front door. By defining an exterior point of entry and creating a radius interior stair, the home instantly opens up and becomes more inviting. From there, further connections to the exterior were made through large sliding doors and a redesigned exterior deck.
