Collaborations are typically so fruitful and this one was no different. The homeowners started by hiring an architect to develop a vision and plan for transforming their very traditional brick home into a contemporary family home full of modern updates. The Kitchen Studio of Glen Ellyn was hired to provide kitchen design expertise and to bring the vision to life.
The bamboo cabinetry and white Ceasarstone countertops provide contrast that pops while the white oak floors and limestone tile bring warmth to the space. A large island houses a Galley Sink which provides a multi-functional work surface fantastic for summer entertaining. And speaking of summer entertaining, a new Nana Wall system — a large glass wall system that creates a large exterior opening and can literally be opened and closed with one finger – brings the outdoor in and creates a very unique flavor to the space.
Matching bamboo cabinetry and panels were also installed in the adjoining family room, along with aluminum doors with frosted glass and a repeat of the limestone at the newly designed fireplace.

Clearcut & CoA traditional kitchen with touches of the farmhouse and Mediterranean styles. We used cool, light tones adding pops of color and warmth with natural wood.
Carl Mattison DesignA hall bath was carved out between two of the downstairs bedrooms. This deep bath is anchored by the tub with window allowing ample light. The sink was reclaimed from an original summer/prep kitchen in the home and refinished. The school house style bath is easy to clean, simple and ready for guests with it's abundant storage.

Kitchen Solvers of Tampa BayKitchen remodeling project where the homeowners wanted to give their kitchen a more updated look. They went with WalzCraft’s Beveled shaker with solid reversed center panel door in rustic cherry and a nutmeg stain. We then converted two base cabinets to 3-drawer stacks, converted existing base cabinet into a full-extension soft-close recycle center and added six rollouts to various base cabinets. We then built down wall cabinets to allow for light molding. The cabinets have a finger route added to all doors and drawers. Next we added two custom bookcases with one-inch solid cherry shelves and converted peninsula wall cabinet doors to framed doors with a delta frost glass insert. To complete the new look we added glass shelving to allow lighting to fully illuminate these cabinets.
Spazio LAThe master bathroom was completely redone, from the layout to the details, and it features a freestanding tub and custom frameless glass shower doors, flat pebbles natural stone tiles on shower and tub area, wood look porcelain floor tiles and light concrete look porcelain wall tiles - all from Spazio LA Tile Gallery. The toilet area was separated with a custom frosted glass toilet room, next to the new fireplace with matching wall tiles. Behind the enclosed shower, next to the custom stained barndoor, an open closet was created for linens and towels. The space also includes Hansgrohe plumbing fixtures, Wayfair lighting fixtures and mirrors, and a double vanity with plenty of storage room.

The design challenge in this kitchen was to combine sleek materials to make the space look modern – in fitting with the overall character of the home – and also to achieve a warm and inviting living space. Some special touches for the homeowners include the peninsula counter top that was dropped down to a more comfortable height for mixing and dough rolling. Above the peninsula a bean-shaped frosted glass snack counter sits on metal posts, creating an eating/snacking area. White porcelain tile with two chrome liners running around the perimeter create a clean backdrop for the focal point of the kitchen, a clear glass hood by Miele. A blue acrylic cabinetry finish gives the space a dash of color, while the cherry finish on the appliances side of the kitchen and on the sitting side of the peninsula makes the kitchen warm and inviting.
