Located overlooking the ski resorts of Big Sky, Montana, this MossCreek custom designed mountain home responded to a challenging site, and the desire to showcase a stunning timber frame element. Utilizing the topography to its fullest extent, the designers of MossCreek provided their clients with beautiful views of the slopes, unique living spaces, and even a secluded grotto complete with indoor pool. The beautiful Westside of Santa Cruz is known for surfing, beaches and homes with small lots. Our main project goal was to maximize outdoor space and create additional rooms that would enlarge the overall living space in this cottage just steps from the beach. Large family gatherings, lots of grandkids and a few dogs inspired a walkable groundcover "lawn". We chose a light colored flagstone for the patio to contrast with the blue home. A long wall serves the dual purpose of additional seating and containing tall, thin plants that create privacy and a sense of enclosure. Plantings provide year-round color in primarily blues and yellows, and require very little water. With our perfect climate, nobody wants to stay indoors, and now this family is utilizing their space to the fullest extent!

When meeting with our homeowners for this dining room and kitchen renovation project, they presented us with a large wish list. This busy family of five loves to cook and entertain for their large extended family. They felt their current dining room was not functioning to its fullest potential. It felt cramped, dark, outdated, and had no flair. They wanted more room for storage, and convenient areas to mix drinks. They also wanted to keep their vintage dining table. We began by laying the room out with a brand new custom built in dry bar with a beverage refrigerator. The bar design included a lot of storage for wine, and all of the barware necessities. The homeowners love bold shades of blue, so we wrapped the walls in Benjamin Moore Galapagos Turquoise. We created a focal wall treatment using painted wood and wallpaper. Silk dupioni drapery add elegance to the windows, along with cozy soft blue chairs, and a spectacular crystal chandelier.

Industrial Green to the fullest extent, this rock-steady table features blackened steel on all four sides combined with the deep, organic grain of our signature Heart Pine. Propped up with the only support that could match the historic significance of reclaimed bowling alley wood, the I-beam. The perfect dining, conference or chef's table when you want to show your Green with a little grit.

This whole-house renovation transformed an 80’s home into a masterpiece for this growing family. With entertaining, function and livability in the forefront we created an open modern space for them to enjoy for decades. Complete with a kitchen do-over incorporating current high-end products and layout as well as a sunroom and living room overlooking their backyard pool, this has become a great family space. They also enjoy their new spa-like Master Bathroom, an updated Formal and Service Powder Baths and Laundry Room. They were delighted with the finished product and enjoy their home to its fullest now.
