The choice to open up the home’s exterior and replace the original inefficient glass with double-glazed folding glass walls addressed the need for thermal efficiency within the home. The floor supported systems with overhead transoms original to the home ensured that the structural changes respected the architectural essence of the era.

This bold and beautifully tailored kitchen renovation in Brecksville, Ohio blends high-end materials with custom craftsmanship to create a space that’s both functional and unforgettable. At the heart of the design is a glass-enclosed wine room, framed in black metal with brass accents. Inside, floating glass shelves, a beverage fridge, wine storage, and patterned tile offer both form and function making it a true showpiece. The kitchen features a striking matte black ceiling with integrated LED cove lighting that adds architectural interest and cozy sophistication. Below, a large central island is topped with Symphony Carmen Polished quartz a stunning surface with warm veining and a luxurious feel carried through in the perimeter countertops for a cohesive look. Cabinetry mixes painted white uppers with light white oak lowers, creating visual depth while grounding the space in natural texture. A custom brass-accented wood range hood, oversized glass pendant lighting, and matte black windows complete the thoughtful palette of finishes.

This spacious entertainer's kitchen is part of a whole house remodel and 2-story addition. Our clients' goal was to create a larger, more functional kitchen with a strong connection to the outdoors. The unique flip up window allows for a complete connection to the outdoor covered space. No expense was spared in this design as the clients' desire for all natural materials drove the selections. The quartzite island in Opus White provides a textural and colorful element that grounds the space and complements the soapstone perimeter counters. The flip out window is a unique feature that bridges indoor and outdoor, and provides unique entertaining element. The focal point of the kitchen are the large windows looking into their greenspace, in order to preserve the view there were very few upper cabinets planned. To compensate with this direction, the lower cabinets were outfitted with top-of-the line interior accessories to provide the most functional and efficient storage. High-end, Wolf and Sub Zero appliance and the addition of a walk-in pantry completed the wish list! Steel beams were the solution to creating the large open connection between existing structure and new kitchen addition. We had to incorporate a shallow steel beam spanning the whole width of the kitchen to not impede the existing 8' ceiling height, yet allow for the master bedroom addition directly above the new kitchen addition. In order to bridge interior and exterior spaces, a custom, flip-out window was selected. This sits on the finished counter slab, which extended into the adjacent covered entertaining patio. This allowed no room for error, all the components had to fit together exactly to insure the extended countertop would function as the sill. The value provided our clients was in helping select high quality materials and install them with exceptional quality. Our team did an outstanding job of keeping our client on track and avoiding costly mistakes. This project was not delivered within the original budget due to several client driven change orders.

When we met this family of 5 (months from being a family of 6!), their first floor felt outdated and disconnected. They dreamed of a space that felt light and airy, yet infused with rich, earthy materials to create warmth and add bold character. More than just a refresh, they needed a functional layout that worked for everyday life—cooking, laundry, entertaining friends, and even unwinding with a cocktail at the end of the day. Extending the kitchen into the morning room seating area enhanced both flow and functionality, while a spacious island became the heart of the home—ideal for casual family meals, meal prep, and hosting friends. A dedicated beverage station with a sink, refrigeration, and an awning window for indoor-outdoor entertaining allows for an effortless transition from morning routines to afternoon snacks on the patio. The laundry room was designed with designated storage for all four kids, creating an organized and functional space. It also serves as a practical landing zone when entering the home, seamlessly extending the light and airy theme with thoughtful design details and playful touches.

Completed in partnership with LAM Studios Inc., this Fall 2024 renovation transformed multiple areas of a Dilworth home into a cohesive, functional, and beautifully updated living environment. The project included a complete kitchen remodel, living room renovation, bathroom remodel, laundry room update, dining room renovation, fireplace enhancement, and hallway improvements. The kitchen serves as the centerpiece of the renovation, featuring improved functionality, modern finishes, and a layout designed to support everyday living and entertaining. Adjacent living and dining spaces were thoughtfully redesigned to create a seamless flow throughout the home, while the updated fireplace provides a warm and inviting focal point. Additional improvements to the bathroom, laundry room, and hallway enhanced both comfort and efficiency, ensuring every space contributes to the home's overall functionality and style. Designed with continuity in mind, the pantry mirrors the kitchen’s traditional elegance and high-end finishes while offering discreet utility. This area underscores the home’s attention to detail, functionality, and a thoughtful approach to transitional spaces.

One of the homeowners loves to cook, but the kitchen was dark. The space was difficult and frustrating. The new kitchen is bigger, brighter, and more functional. It now has all the prep space he needs and the task lighting he always wanted. They also love their new spa bathroom, which is beautiful and warm and exactly what they had in mind. One of the homeowners describes himself as fussy and impatient, and at first he had been anxious about the whole prospect of renovation. He said afterwards that the team made him feel comfortable, listened to, and unconcerned. One factor that made them so at ease with choosing Lagois was the “in house” aspect of their services. This full kitchen remodel was designed to bring in more light, improve functionality, and create a seamless flow for everyday living. At the center of the space is a striking porcelain island, serving as both a visual focal point and a highly functional gathering area. A hooded range adds architectural presence, anchoring the kitchen and tying the overall design together. Cabinetry was extended to the ceiling to maximize storage and create a more refined, built-in look, while thoughtful storage solutions were integrated throughout for everyday ease. To further enhance connection and flow, the back door was reworked to better link the kitchen to the outdoor deck, bringing in additional natural light and improving accessibility. Beyond the kitchen, the project extended into the adjacent living room, where the fireplace was reimagined with custom built-in shelving and layered ambient lighting. This creates a cohesive transition between spaces, designed for both relaxation and entertaining. The result is a home that feels elevated, functional, and thoughtfully connected, tailored to how the family lives day to day.

By removing those barriers, we created one large, open space that feels both connected and welcoming. The existing window remained in place, and we designed around it with a built-in counter and stools—an ideal spot to pause, get some work done, or enjoy a quiet moment.

Over the years, their taste had drifted into a more contemporary realm, and they wanted our help to bridge the gap between traditional and modern. We decided the layout of the kitchen worked well in the space and the cabinets were in good shape, so we opted to do a refresh with the kitchen. The original kitchen had blond maple cabinets and granite countertops. This was also a great opportunity to make some updates to the functionality that they were hoping to accomplish. After re-finishing all the first floor wood floors with a gray stain, which helped to remove some of the red tones from the red oak, we painted the cabinetry Benjamin Moore “Repose Gray” a very soft light gray. The new countertops are hardworking quartz, and the waterfall countertop to the left of the sink gives a bit of the contemporary flavor. We reworked the refrigerator wall to create more pantry storage and eliminated the double oven in favor of a single oven and a steam oven. The existing cooktop was replaced with a new range paired with a Venetian plaster hood above. The glossy finish from the hood is echoed in the pendant lights. A touch of gold in the lighting and hardware adds some contrast to the gray and white. A theme we repeated down to the smallest detail illustrated by the Jason Wu faucet by Brizo with its similar touches of white and gold (the arrival of which we eagerly awaited for months due to ripples in the supply chain – but worth it!). The original breakfast room was pleasant enough with its windows looking into the backyard. Now with its colorful window treatments, new blue chairs and sculptural light fixture, this space flows seamlessly into the kitchen and gives more of a punch to the space. The original butler’s pantry was functional but was also starting to show its age. The new space was inspired by a wallpaper selection that our client had set aside as a possibility for a future project. It worked perfectly with our pallet and gave a fun eclectic vibe to this functional space. We eliminated some upper cabinets in favor of open shelving and painted the cabinetry in a high gloss finish, added a beautiful quartzite countertop and some statement lighting. The new room is anything but cookie cutter. Next the mudroom. You can see a peek of the mudroom across the way from the butler’s pantry which got a facelift with new paint, tile floor, lighting and hardware. Simple updates but a dramatic change! The first floor powder room got the glam treatment with its own update of wainscoting, wallpaper, console sink, fixtures and artwork. A great little introduction to what’s to come in the rest of the home. The whole first floor now flows together in a cohesive pallet of green and blue, reflects the homeowner’s desire for a more modern aesthetic, and feels like a thoughtful and intentional evolution.
