Here is the detached garage and studio as seen from the covered terrace. The detached garage is designed to house four cars with two on hydralic lifts and two below the lifts. The garage ceiling is 11 ft tall to clear the stacked cars. The studio is above the main garage door with the stair and storage closets on the right. Chris Marshall

Inspiration for a mid-sized timeless attached three-car garage remodel in Boston

On April 22, 2013, MainStreet Design Build began a 6-month construction project that ended November 1, 2013 with a beautiful 655 square foot addition off the rear of this client's home. The addition included this gorgeous custom kitchen, a large mudroom with a locker for everyone in the house, a brand new laundry room and 3rd car garage. As part of the renovation, a 2nd floor closet was also converted into a full bathroom, attached to a child’s bedroom; the formal living room and dining room were opened up to one another with custom columns that coordinated with existing columns in the family room and kitchen; and the front entry stairwell received a complete re-design. This carriage house consists of a living room with a Murphy bed, a kitchenette, a three-fixture bathroom, a laundry room, and a loft for an additional sleeping area. The carriage house has a balcony door that overlooks the neighborhood golf course.

Located in a neighborhood of older homes, this stone Tudor Cottage is located on a triangular lot at the point of convergence of two tree lined streets. A new garage and addition to the west of the existing house have been shaped and proportioned to conform to the existing home, with its large chimneys and dormered roof. A new three car garage has been designed with an additional large storage and expansion area above, which may be used for future living/play space. Stained cedar garage doors emulate the feel of an older carriage house.
