Set in the garden beside a traditional Dutch Colonial home in Wellesley, Flavin conceived this boldly modern retreat, built of steel, wood and concrete. The building is designed to engage the client’s passions for gardening, entertaining and restoring vintage Vespa scooters. The Vespa repair shop and garage are on the first floor. The second floor houses a home office and veranda. On top is a roof deck with space for lounging and outdoor dining, surrounded by a vegetable garden in raised planters. The structural steel frame of the building is left exposed; and the side facing the public side is draped with a mahogany screen that creates privacy in the building and diffuses the dappled light filtered through the trees. To create a private courtyard just off the home office, Eden fabricated a hexagonal perforated steel screen, covered in ‘Tangerine Beauty’ crossvine, to define the space. A large specimen Agave weberi punctuated the area and provided privacy. Low-maintenance concrete benches and a coffee table provided opportunities for lounging. Dramatic plant textures, modern hardscaping and sharp angles enhanced this mid-century modern bungalow. Soft plants were chosen to contrast with the sharp angles of the pathways and hard edges of the MCM home, while providing all-season interest. Horizontal privacy screens wrap the front porch and create intimate garden spaces – some visible only from the street and some visible only from inside the home. The front yard is relatively small in size, but full of colorful texture.

Average clear indoor or outdoor room partitions or wall partitions are nothing new. Textured cast glass privacy screens, or privacy walls bring an entirely new look to your space. To provide privacy or to open up a room - partitions never looked so good! Featured texture is "Lava" on clear glass.

Benefits of our privacy screens:
1- Increased privacy – The nosy neighbors and odd passersby will have a much harder time seeing your own personal goings-on.
2- Shade – On a hot summer’s day, it is always nice to find a bit of shade, and when the sun is beating down on your patio, sometimes you have to bring the shade to you. A privacy screen can offer this much-needed respite from the heat of direct sunlight.
3- Hiding eyesores – Sometimes there are things we need to keep outside and they are not always aesthetically pleasing. Things like air conditioning units and water pumps can really distract from your yard’s scenery. Privacy screens are a good way of dividing and keeping things like this out of sight.
4- Attractive – The right screen can really accentuate your yard, making it a true sight to be seen.

Fencing is a wonderful way to keep things in and out of your yard, but if it is simply some privacy that you are seeking consider planting an evergreen screen; a winsome wall comprised of the soft and supple needles of the mighty White Pine or the dandy and denser scale leaves of the lavish Leyland Cypress. Adorning understory plantings of broadleaf evergreens offer an extra layer of privacy and peace year-round.

Inspiration for a modern concrete patio remodel in Toronto with no cover

Stepping stones in a minimal gravel paved area lead past two lounge chairs to the intimate dining area. The herringbone-patterned limestone patio dissipates into a lush planting bed filled with loose swaths of shade-loving perennials and seasonal bulbs. Beech hedging, and formal clipped evergreens, surround the space and provide privacy, structure and winter interest to the garden. On axis to the main interior living space of the home, the fountain, is the focal point of the garden. A limestone water wall featuring an engraved pattern of fallen Honey Locust leaves nods to the centrally located mature Honey Locust tree that anchors the garden. Water, flowing down the wall, falls a short distance into a pool with a submerged limestone panel. The light noise of the falling water helps soften the sounds of the bustling downtown neighbourhood, creating a tranquil back drop for living and entertaining.

Alyssa and Lysandra utilised "Star Anais' Outdeco Garden screen and Vertiscape Vertical Garden to transform the outdoor living space in their terrace on The Block.

CORE Decor Privacy / Art Screens, used as:
- Outdoor Space Walls
- Fence Decor
- Boundary Fencing
- Pool & Patio Privacy
- Wall Art
- Conceal Trash bins or A/C Equipment

The client wanted a better flow throughout their landscape, as well as introduce straight lines to a space to modernize the irregular shaped pool.
Their upper deck was where they did a majority of their entertaining so ensuring this space was large enough for both dining and lounge was the starting point of the design. Introducing privacy from the many on looking neighbours, without completely blocking it off from the rest of their own yard was important. Laser cut privacy screens added this filtered privacy.
A round hot tub was added to the back corner of the property, which otherwise seemed like wasted space. Highlighted by the privacy panels in the same pattern used on the deck to create some consistency.
Trees were both maintained and added where needs along the property to add greenery and privacy. The entire space now feels open within the backyard, but private from neighbours.
