It is very disappointing to receive this type of feedback from a client but yet very positive input from his designers who we worked with over several weeks to try and pull together this material within a very short timeframe given. Unfortunately when living in a high rise building the effort it takes to install "jumbo" size panels, scheduling the service elevator for transport, is not the same as delivering a refrigerator to a loading dock, his example. Having done many projects in his building we were not willing to absorb extra men to support this location, not to mention lack of parking of the glass trucks (2) and carrying materials from the parking location into the building to the 17th floor. Had we known at the beginning of the quote all aspects of the detail of this job, this would have been quoted accordingly at the beginning and might not have created the angry response received from the homeowner when a revised quote was submitted to add on the extra labor. The client felt he was the expert with regards to what was involved and his offer to pay the extra monies only "IF" he was satisfied with the service. We try to always be as accommodating as possible and our past clientele speaks for itself. We recommended this individual to feel free to obtain alternate quotes which he could use the CGI layouts which outlined the hardware & configuration for a quick turnaround from other glass organizations, but was met with more hostility. We decided at that point as an organization not to pursue this contract since it was only at the quote stage and avoid subjecting our field employees to this type of behavior. We wish the client all the best and are confident he will partner with another glass company that will meet or exceed his requirements.
