One Raven is a truely unique project that pushes the boundaries of urban density without losing heritage roots. Located in the heart of North Vancouver‘s up and coming moodyville neighbourhood, One Raven will be a beacon on E 3rd. With one of the last remaining heritage buildings on the front of the lot, the project consists of a NetZero high-performance infill duplex, each complete with its suite. This will add 4 new livable units in an infill laneway format with the heritage home complementing the site. The project is built to Level 5 of the BC Energy Step Code meaning it is already at the energy targets for all buildings in 2032, 13 years early! This spectacular and unique project was designed by the talented architect Tina Hubert at Design Studio 8. The passive house inspired townhouses and suites will be accessed via an internal courtyard bi-secting the lot in an east-west orientation parallel to the street. A circulation corridor oriented north-south will be accessed from the sidewalk at the existing stone retaining wall and concrete stair. The site design creates private open spaces yet also fosters connection to the semi-private realm of the inner courtyard. Each townhouse will have access to ground level patios, gardens, balconies and roof decks. The exterior walls are “super” insulated walls that are 12” or more thick with a focus on air-tight detailing. Walking through this Industrial-Contemporary home is a treat. It intrigues your ideas and thoughts, it pushes the people within the space to feel inspired, successful and hopeful. The contemporary and industrial textures mixed together form a team of undeniable unity. This type of feeling comes form a splash of French-Country in the shiplap, and the depth of the colors and textures lining the home. When used along side the natural stains thought the home, the space has a brilliant feminine style, mixed with a masculine flavor. The textures found in the wheatgrass wallpapers throughout the space, lend a softer flavor up against the stone, and large paneled porcelain on the fireplaces. Window coverings, drapes and the window drape liners soften the direct lines in this project. Porcelain countertops create a contemporary feel in the kitchen and bathrooms. Porcelain countertops are a home run! If you're looking for a product that doesn't require maintenance but looks amazing, porcelain countertops are a product used often in high end homes and have great success. Of course, install is usually only successful when using the correct installer. Laminam porcelain countertops don't hair line fracture like many of the other porcelain countertops.

Carrara marble island with wine storage on the side create a beautiful contrast to the white cabinets with the silestone grey countertops and herringbone backsplash tile. Inspiration for a mid-sized contemporary backyard concrete patio remodel in Vancouver with a fire pit and no cover

Globe Electric's 3W (60W equivalent) Vintage A-Type LED Bulb. In the early days of electrical lighting, inventors such as Thomas Edison tested and retested as they searched for long-burning filaments. In 1890, the filament choice was carbonized cotton. Globe Electric’s bulbs have a tungsten filament, which is used to reproduce the single hairpin loop of a vintage design. Position it within a clear shade or exposed socket to enjoy its shape and ambient glow. This Edison inspired bulb is a Steampunk favorite with its glowing cage-shaped filament surrounding a central glass support. Crafted to preserve the look of early 20th-century lighting. Please note, these bulbs are not as bright as modern bulbs of the same wattage and are recommended for exposed socket fixtures. These bulbs can be dimmed.
