The Signature Design Team at Shehan Luxury Pools is often asked to go beyond the expected, and dream of enchanting spaces where light and dark, sight and sound, luxury and creativity fuse into a hypnotic symphony for the senses. The results is this Mediterranean mirage. Requiring approximately eight months to complete, this exotic dream consists of every creature comfort one can imagine; including an elevated Jacuzzi spa inside the grotto, full-service facilities for men and women, sleeping caverns, a full-service wet bar, and a spacious outdoor commercial kitchen.

Beyond the grand stone veneer entrance, a breezeway opens to a stunning outdoor living space with views of Sarasota bay. Over 1,000 square feet of flagstone decking lays right up to the edge of the rock waterfall pool, the stonework continues around to an outdoor shower made with three large boulders and massive stone steps to a secret tropical pathway behind the pool grotto. From here you can climb the grotto rocks and jump into the swimming pool, or meander on to the tiki hut. Once in the pool, the swim up ledge in the grotto can be accessed from the pool’s sun shelf and is large enough to stand in. If the walk-through grotto doesn’t make this one of the best lagoons in Florida, there is a fire pit peninsula between the lounge chairs on the sun shelf and the in-pool seating cove next to the oversize spa to maximize the space. This pool has every feature one could desire. From multiple fire features to various waterfalls, the senses are always engaged in this outdoor space. The Baja shelf allows for shallow sitting relaxation. The swim up grotto is hidden by a continuous water fall and offers bench seating inside. The deck above is nearly 8 feet high off the ground level in order to capture the panoramic ocean views. Complete with a large built in infinity edge spa, fire feature and bubble fountains, the deck space is an entertainers dream.

Inspiration for a transitional ceramic tile dining room remodel in San Francisco

Aquatic Artists designed and built this award-winning formal water feature in Millstone, NJ. Crafted to resemble a Miami South Beach look, this large formal grotto is topped off with an 11’ x 6’ custom fabricated piece of blue stone that creates a perfect sheet of water cascading over the grotto into this vinyl pool. This water feature also has two formal planting beds with sheer descent waterfalls on either side of the grotto. Lastly, we capped this water feature with natural stone coping and placed veneer stone on the face of the water feature as well as the inside of the grotto.

Aquatic Artists designed and built this award-winning natural water feature into a hill in Churchville, MD. We crafted a large pool grotto that is 7’ high with multiple natural stone waterfalls that cascade into this gunite pool. One of the waterfalls splits into two streams and one of the streams cascades over the pool grotto. We built the other stream of this waterfall to cascade into the spa and designed it so the spa is a waterfall that cascades into the pool. We also installed an ultimate custom pool slide manufactured by Dolphin into this water feature and built natural stone steps that lead up to the slide. In addition, another waterfall on the other side of the pool slide has a stream that also cascades into the pool. Lastly, we placed veneer stone around the face of the spa and installed planting beds throughout this water feature to tie the natural look all together.

Aquatic Artists crafted the ultimate grotto cave in Moorestown, NJ. We created a large waterfall grotto that is 6.5′ high and cascades into the gunite pool. We also built a side entrance to this grotto cave that has a waterfall cascading over it. We designed the inside of the cave to have a portion wet near the front opening and dry towards the rear. Also, we installed cedar wood logs into the ceiling inside the cave to enhance its natural look.

Inside this grotto the rope and log steps lead to a ledge where one can jump through the waterfall into the pool, and just beyond is the swim up bar and grotto kitchen with the pirate chandelier adds to the theme.
