When designing this kitchen update and addition, Phase One had to keep function and style top of mind, all the time. The homeowners are masters in the kitchen and also wanted to highlight the great outdoors and the future location of their pool, so adding window banks were paramount, especially over the sink counter. The bathrooms renovations were hardly a second thought to the kitchen; one focuses on a large shower while the other, a stately bathtub, complete with frosted glass windows Stylistic details such as a bright red sliding door, and a hand selected fireplace mantle from the mountains were key indicators of the homeowners trend guidelines. Storage was also very important to the client and the home is now outfitted with 12.

The Living Room features high ceilings, large patio doors, a french door leading to the 4-Seasons Room, a double sided fireplace with built-in cabinets for storage and shelving for displays.

This bright living room is part of a full condominium renovation completed at the Capilano Building in Woodcroft, North Vancouver. The renovation focused on improving the layout and maximizing natural light throughout the unit by creating an open connection between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. New flooring installed across the condo visually unifies the interior while reflecting daylight from the large windows and balcony doors. The open layout allows the living space to feel larger and more connected to the surrounding areas of the home. A custom media wall with integrated millwork and concealed LED lighting was designed to create a clean focal point for the living room while maintaining a modern minimalist aesthetic. This permitted renovation required close coordination with Woodcroft strata management and building guidelines, ensuring the project was executed smoothly within the high-rise environment.

Engineered cedar siding creates beautiful gray-blue tones at the exterior of the home, while adding a textural element to activate the simple exterior design.

A spectacular dream home nestles thoughtfully into an east-facing slope of the Berkshires, blending into its mountain context. The retreat provides year-round opportunities for an active family to absorb mesmerizing multi-seasonal views. Two contemporary buildings—a main home and a guest cabin conceived of in two separate phases—are carefully positioned to preserve existing mature hardwood trees and to adhere to strict watershed protection guidelines established by the Berkshire Scenic Mountains Act. The site plan purposefully engages dramatic topographic variations that solidify connections between interior and exterior spaces. Newly sculpted landforms retained by crisp board form concrete walls are smothered with native fern and blueberry sods. New native shrub colonies provide scale and enclosure to the property. Cascading stone staircases link the house to two generously-sized terraces paved with linear bands of reclaimed granite curbing that create wonderful opportunities to relax and admire surrounding views. The upper terrace provides ample room for movable furnishings such as a teak dining set, a movable corten steel fire bowl, and built-in steel firewood crib, while the lower terrace revels in a gorgeous in-ground swimming pool. Smaller stone terraces are positioned at the front entrance and kitchen for a movable grill, while stone paths with lawn joints guide guests between buildings.
