Large windows in this home allow for tons of natural light, but we needed to harness it, so we added some simple white shade window treatments to add a functional and modern element to dress the windows.

A collection that unites the poetic and unique beauty of stones harnessed by Dekton® technology, as those dreams where we observe and vaguely feel in control but only the deepest part of our mind truly understands. The collection is named in honor of the lavish inspiration of the two worlds conveyed in marbled colors to captivate our eyes and bring to any space a feeling we understand but cannot explain.

This beautiful transitional home combines both Craftsman and Traditional elements that include high-end interior finishes that add warmth, scale, and texture to the open floor plan. Gorgeous whitewashed hardwood floors are on the main level, upper hall, and owner~s bedroom. Solid core Craftsman doors with rich casing complement all levels. Viking stainless steel appliances, LED recessed lighting, and smart features create built-in convenience. The Chevy Chase location is moments away from restaurants, shopping, and trails. The exterior features an incredible landscaped, deep lot north of 13, 000 sf.

Designed for comfort, the Leroy Sofa harnesses the best of traditional sofa features in a silhouette that works for today’s interiors. Ideal for relaxed family lifestyles, it is divided by casual and cozy loose back cushions. Turned wooden feet and roll arms echo its pleasantly rounded profile.

The home boasts 7.2 Kilowatts of photovoltaic energy production. Nestled amongst the tall pines in Edgemont Highlands it seemed a difficult task to harness a large amount of solar energy. The home however was designed not only to be unobtrusive to the existing landscape but also to raise as high as possible the south facing roof line above most of those tall pines. We were able to accommodate on that roof as many solar panels as the local electrical supplier would allow. The result is that the entire roof that faces south was covered with high efficiency panels. By building an extremely efficient home the 7.2 Kilowatts should cover 120% of the energy usage needed for the homes heating, lighting, and cooking. This will leave energy enough without paying the power company to charge an electric vehicle as well.

Inspiration for a timeless hallway remodel in Indianapolis

This wet bar and living room fireplace/media cabinet are viewed together from several angles, so they compliment each other via unified materials. The stone is called rain forest green and the cabinets are made from a strandwoven wood material. The entry, kitchen and hallways all have a ceramic faux bois plank floor to help mitigate wear and tear from dogs, kids, guests and the like. This is a 5000+ sf vacation home that sits up on a hill with stunning views of Carmel Valley. The goal was to remodel the home with the intention of harnessing the beauty of its natural setting, while creating a tranquil place of respite and refuge. As the client has kids, large show dogs, and family/friends enjoying the space, it was important to use finishes that could sustain multiple end users. In lieu of hardwood floors, I specified a ceramic faux bois tile for high traffic areas that looks like hardwood but is virtually indestructible. With warm finishes and sculptural forms, the newly designed home is now dynamic, earthy and inviting.

School settings require students to maintain concentration and sit still for long periods of time throughout the day. Needless to say, that can be tough not only for teenagers but adults as well. Harnessing sheer roller shades to cover classroom windows helps ensure sunlight doesn’t become a hindrance in the path of education, but a facilitator of better learning. By diffusing sunlight that enters the classrooms, students don’t suffer the negative cognitive impact of harsh glare that’s strainful on the eyes. Instead, they enjoy the benefits sunlight plays in maintaining alertness and attentiveness. Classroom window shades that provide better privacy also help to keep outside distractions from interfering with the lessons, keeping students focused on the subject at hand. LiLu Interiors joined a team of industry professionals to pioneer a net zero energy consumption home in Minnesota. And together, they have made efficiency and sustainability feel right at home. The stunning creation of this client’s dream into reality harnesses more than enough electricity to sustain an entire residence, while also powering two vehicles. Not only is the home energy efficient, all finish and furnishing selections—along with plumbing, lighting, and hardware—were chosen with a conscious effort toward conservation, aging in place, and providing a healthy living environment. The proposal analyzes the site as a series of existing flows or “routes” across the landscape. The negotiation of both constructed and natural systems establishes the logic of the site plan and the orientation and organization of the new home. Conceptually, the project becomes a highly choreographed knot at the center of these routes, drawing strands in, engaging them with others, and propelling them back out again. The project’s intent is to capture and harness the physical and ephemeral sense of these latent natural movements as a way to promote in the architecture the wanderlust the surrounding landscape inspires.
