This project is another example of how to maximize small spaces. This customer’s small Brentwood yard was centered around their new plunge pool. However, the existing pavers and layout left much to be desired. We reworked the pavers to create usable spaces and clean lines, and a vines and lighting work with the custom pergola to increase the privacy and add a soft vertical element to encourage the intimate feel of the space. Two other structures block the pool equipment and AC compressor from sight. This reduces the visual weight of these areas and allows the eye to focus on the crown jewel of the space… the pool.

Inspiration for an eclectic powder room remodel in Charlotte

The homeowners of this California Cottage wanted a beach vibe in their 1700 sq. ft. home. They wanted to make the most of their spaces by widening doorways, adding wood floors throughout the house, and adding a skylight. The result is cozy, casual California living at its best with frequent family dinners and celebrations with friends. The teenage daughter in the family requested a colorful, patterned, ethnic vibe for her bedroom.

For the light-bathed room off the hard-working kitchen, Sara began with spellbinding color as inspiration. On the walls she used an earthy, hot-flashing orange, a hue of fruits and flowers, and covered the banquette in brilliant turquoise, a cool pool of complementary color. Elements such as bridges need to reflect the nature of the water. This bridge reflects the cobbles used in this cascade. Had it been a pool, then stepping stones or wood that matches the wood along the pool could be employed.
