Staghorn NYC designed and installed this townhouse backyard garden for a young family in Brooklyn. The clients requested a pea gravel patio for it's casual style and great drainage properties and a palette of mostly native plants. River birch trees anchor the back of the yard and provide dappled shade, and lush border plantings give color and interest during all four seasons.

This room was fun to design. With birds that visit the room with only leaving the door open and inspired us to create a concept with birdcages, trees, whites, pink and baby furniture, a reading corner inside her little house and mirror windows that bring nature inside Rolando Diaz & Bluemoon Filmworks

An expansive back yard landscape with several mature oak trees and a stunning Golden Locust tree has been transformed into a welcoming outdoor retreat. The renovations include a wraparound deck, an expansive travertine natural stone patio, stairways and pathways along with concrete retaining walls and column accents with dramatic planters. The pathways meander throughout the landscape... some with travertine stepping stones and gravel and those below the majestic oaks left natural with fallen leaves. Raised vegetable beds and fruit trees occupy some of the sunniest areas of the landscape. A variety of low-water and low-maintenance plants for both sunny and shady areas include several succulents, grasses, CA natives and other site-appropriate Mediterranean plants complimented by a variety of boulders. Beginning of fireplace wall layout. Even the eyes of owl follow you as you move around room! We were able to cut trees so no hardware needed to attach trees. They will be sitting in glass vases with white sand. TayRose Design

This 8400 square foot farmhouse respects the building forms, materials, and details of the earlier agricultural buildings of the Santa Ynez Valley. We used reclaimed corrugated metal on the two story water tower office. The stone used for the foundation face and the fireplaces was collected from the river which borders this 100 acre ranch. The outdoor fireplace is part of the large, wrap around porch which overlooks the surrounding fields and distant mountains.
