So I know I said that Office 01 was one of my favorite offices at Cedar Counseling & Wellness, but Office 07 IS hands-down my favorite. Moody, modern and masculine… I definitely wouldn’t mind working here every day! When it came to the design, Carrie really invested in professional, quality pieces - and you can tell. They really stand out on their own, allowing us to keep the design clean and minimal.

Holistic design goes beyond problem solving to incorporate all aspects of the ecosystem that a product is used in. It is concerned with aesthetics, sustainability, spirituality and other aspects of “wants” rather than “needs”. Eris EcoVation Container Homes and businesses are thoughtfully designed, LEED Certified, and built for the future. A holistic approach with the most progressive thinking in architecture, engineering, interior design, construction, landscaping, and lifestyle. Not that long ago, the term “audio-video” or “AV” meant just that: audio and video. Today, the AV industry has evolved into something much bigger: smart homes with entertainment, wellness and sustainability features. In Montana, SAV Digital Environments and owner Cory Reistad are at the forefront of that movement.

Probably the most “peaceful” out of all the offices, office 06 is certainly a calming retreat. Painted a soft, mossy green, the inside almost blends in with the outside. This office really is the perfect blend of “natural” and “modern” in that there plenty of “soft” elements (i.e. the pottery filled with stems and the basket wall) however they’re paired with some more “masculine” ones (i.e. the black floor lamps, structured sofa, etc.).

Waiting Area for Cedar Counseling & Wellness in Annapolis, MD.
In the early stages of designing Cedar Counseling & Wellness, we knew that we wanted the waiting area to be especially warm and welcoming. Despite it’s expansive scale, the sage/olive green-colored walls almost envelope you when you walk in and the warmth felt through the woven basket pendants and wood, slat dividers help to put you at ease. The soft curves of the modern, white sofas were quite intentional, as we wanted pieces with “curves” to off-set some of the “harder”, more direct elements in the room. All of these “softer” elements help to create a safe and welcoming environment.

Minimal, elegant, masculine… Office 01 is hands-down one of my favorite offices at Cedar Counseling and Wellness. While simple in design, the pieces in the room are quality. Used primarily for group therapy, we decided to keep the gorgeous black, veined table; placing leather swivel chairs around it.

Taking our cue from the beautiful, wooded-view, we transformed this corner-office into a peaceful, professional retreat. Being the office of Carrie, the owner and founder of Cedar, we wanted it to feel substantial. We achieved this with the quality pieces that we selected - everything from the Mid-Century Modern console tables to the gray, linen sofa.

Walking into waiting area 01, we wanted clients to feel safe and secure, while with waiting area 02, we wanted something a bit more bright, and open. Being a multi-use space: waiting area, yoga studio, kitchen, walk way, etc., the design needed to serve a multitude of purposes. As is the case, we created a seating arrangement that provides plenty of walkability (to the counselor’s offices) while still having the ability to be ability to be reconfigured, if needed.

When looking at this office, most people would look at it and say, “yeah, this was definitely designed by Making Room for Peace.” With nods toward our signature California-coastal style, office 05 is certainly a peaceful retreat. One of the only offices with white walls, when the sun pours in through the windows, it casts the most beautiful glow. Toning things down, we placed a modern, gray sofa with blonde accent tables on either side. Throughout the room there are pops of black metal, brown leather and blue.

This is the wellness retreat we designed for the 2019 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyle Holiday Showhouse. This spa retreat features a hydrotherapy tub, a pedicure station, sitting area with a fountain. We created a home spa. The room incorporates wellness design principles of lots of natural lights, bringing nature into your home, uncluttered space, and a sense of tranquility when you are in this room. The " less is more" in decorating a holistic space to decompress and remove stress.

Similar to office 02, the design of office 03 was largely influenced by the piece of art above the sofa, selected by our client Carrie. A beautiful movement of blues and greens, this color scheme continues throughout the rest of the room, as seen in the decor.
