This Longboat Key staircase was completely transformed with a custom cable railing system fabricated and installed by APG Welding. The original staircase featured traditional wood balusters that limited the open feel of the home. Our team replaced them with sleek horizontal cable railings, creating a modern design that maximizes natural light and enhances the home's contemporary coastal style. Every railing was custom fabricated to ensure a precise fit and a clean, durable finish. This before-and-after project highlights how a cable railing system can dramatically update an existing staircase while improving both aesthetics and functionally. This urban home in New York achieves an open feel with several flights of floating stairs accompanied by cable railing. The surface mount posts were manufactured from Aluminum and finished with our popular black powder coat. The system is topped off with our 6000 mission-style handrail. The floating stairs are accented by 3 1/2″ treads made from White Oak. Altogether, the system further’s the home’s contemporary design.
