Our clients lived in a wonderful home they designed and built which they referred to as their dream home until this property they admired for many years became available. Its location on a point with spectacular ocean views made it impossible to resist. This 40-year-old home was state of the art for its time. It was perfectly sited but needed to be renovated to accommodate their lifestyle and make use of current materials. Thus began the 3-year journey. They decided to capture one of the most exquisite views of Boston’s North Shore and do a full renovation inside and out. This project was a complete gut renovation with the addition of a guest suite above the garage and a new front entry.

This Coral Gables garage was transformed from a raw, sub-level space into a clean, fully finished room. We ran custom floor-to-ceiling cabinets in a deep navy-blue finish along two walls and wrapped them seamlessly around the corner, holding the reveal lines consistent throughout. A solid butcher-block workbench anchors the center of the run, with a slatwall backsplash above for adjustable hooks and tools, and bank drawers below for smaller hardware. On the adjacent wall, a full-width slatwall panel system adds flexible vertical storage for bikes, ladders, and equipment, keeping the floor clear. Underfoot, a flake epoxy floor coating was applied over a fully diamond-ground slab, creating a seamless, slip-resistant surface built for South Florida's heat and humidity. The powder-coated, moisture-resistant cabinetry gives the space an almost furniture-grade look — a finished room rather than a utility space.
