This was a complete kitchen renovation. The remodel included removing skylights and installing a two story bump up adding no square footage to the room but creating a dramatic visual even for the most discriminating designer. When you enter this kitchen your eyes wander trying to absorb the immense planning and detail that went into the renovation but ultimately you find yourself positioned under the large Theresa Maria chandelier gazing into the sky. The kitchen was designed around the 48 inch Thermador stove. The 2 story inset cabinet creation around the stove flows up into the addition creating a visual masterpiece that is only rivaled by original pieces of art works created by the likes of Van Gogh, Picasso and Rembrandt. The sink was relocated from the exterior wall and into the island so that the stove wall would be isolated and not connected any other cabinets. The 36-inch-wide refrigerator and 36-inch-wide freezer were designed and installed next to a microwave cabinet that makes heating up items as convenient as 1,2,3. The outside cabinet wall section is perfect for entertaining with the 42 inch base cabinets. The massive two-tiered island of 124 inches long is perfect for everyday family living. A farmer’s sink adds the perfect touch to this traditional design. Renovating a kitchen without ceiling detail is one of the most overlooked parts of the renovation. The amount of money spent on the renovation depends on the budget of course but I highly recommend including ceiling detail as much as one considers the tile backsplash.

Rustic + Modern. That is the vision this homeowner had for her new kitchen. After purchasing this house, one of the big changes was removing a wall, and opening up the space. This gave us the space for a huge island, and a dramatic focal point. The design concept was driven by the client’s vision, and involved prominent use of reclaimed barn wood. From the beginning, 2 major uses of the barn wood were planned – wrapping the island, and construction of a sliding “barn” door. With these focal points in mind, the cabinetry was kept clean and simple. A shaker door style was chosen in maple, painted with a soft gray-toned white. Poured concrete countertops continue the neutral background, allowing the barn wood to keep center stage. The mix: rustic + modern. The rustic details include the sliding door hardware, period stools, and the reclaimed-lumber open shelves with the primitive dishware display. These details are seamlessly melded with modern elements, including the contemporary light fixtures and faucet. Other modern touches include the brushed-stainless accessories. This kitchen design includes an impressive 8’ island, with generous prep and seating areas. The main wall offers over 19’ of cabinetry, and features an immense amount of storage. Across the room, 2 custom pantry cabinets expand the storage options. All in all, a timeless and unique kitchen that we were proud to be a part of!

GOALS After recently completing indoor renovations, the homeowners were now ready to focus on updating and improving their property. The home lacked curb appeal and was void of any landscape. The land sloped down to the right of the house where decaying retaining walls needed to be addressed and the backyard needed a complete overhaul. – Add curb appeal – Create seasonal interest – Replace failing retaining walls – Create a cohesive space in both the front and rear yards APPROACH The timber wall in the rear yard was removed along with the decaying wall in the front yard. The updated design incorporated a new masonry retaining wall to complement the stucco finish on the house. A natural moss rock wall was added to the front right side of the house to help even out the grade along the foundation. A selection of hardy plants were selected to soften the architecture of the home, providing year-round interest and immense curb appeal. PLANTING COMPONENTS • Large specimen trees, such as hinoki cypress and holly were used to add height and to anchor the home within the landscape. • Southern magnolia and birch trees were placed in the lawn to add color and shade. • Flowering hydrangea, carpet roses, azaleas and perennials such as geranium, liriope, astilbe, coreopsis and nepeta were used to create seasonal interest. RESULT The redesigned landscape provided the finishing touch to the home’s renovations, restoring its curb appeal and adding tremendous value to the home overall.

This crisp, bright Master bathroom once had a cultured marble built-in tub, an enclosed shower, an unused seated make up area at the vanity and no door going into the bedroom. We demoed the shower and tub and started over! The Signature Hardware Leith freestanding tub opened up and updated the bathroom immensely. We installed Vicostone Statuario bathroom counter tops and all new Quality cabinets with a cotton paint. We opened up the once enclosed shower by demoing the full wall into a pony wall and installing glass to the upper portion, along with a frameless glass door. Naos Blanco 12"x24" large tile was used for the majority of the shower walls with a feature using 3"x6" Biltmore marble subway tile installed vertically creating a wow factor for this once dark enclosed shower. The shower floor is the same Biltmore tumbled polished tile but 2"x2" square. The existing glass in the three windows behind the tub were changed for a more updated look. We added new lighting, mirrors and polished chrome faucets and hardware that really brighten up the space even more. The Murray small kitchen remodel demonstrated the immense potential of a small kitchen makeover. We started by stripping everything to the studs, enabling us to redesign the layout and make adjustments to the kitchen's overall flow. In the design layout, we closed off a doorway to allow more wall space for additional full custom cabinetry and appliances, enhancing the kitchen's functionality. We extended the counters and repositioned the refrigerator to improve the workspace and flow. The new island, highlighted with pendant lighting and set on stylish hardwood flooring, became the focal point, providing extra counter space and a gathering spot. Additional features like under-cabinet lighting, a touch-activated faucet, and a custom hood boosted the kitchen's overall appeal and practicality. Modern elements like the integrated speed oven in the island cabinetry, and the new hardwood flooring throughout, completed the transformation.
