A modern mid-century house in the Los Feliz neighborhood of the Hollywood Hills, this was an extensive renovation. The house was brought down to its studs, new foundations poured, and many walls and rooms relocated and resized. The aim was to improve the flow through the house, to make if feel more open and light, and connected to the outside, both literally through a new stair leading to exterior sliding doors, and through new windows along the back that open up to canyon views. photos by Undine Prohl

Free standing tub perfectly centered in the corner window. Finished the walls with wainscoting to mimic the cabinets to provide a consistent seamless flow around the bathroom.

The flow of this home was improved by adding the door seen on the far wall. Before the bedrooms located at that end of the home were only accessed via a long dark hallway.

New open-concept living area connecting seamlessly with the kitchen and main living spaces, improving natural light, flow, and everyday functionality.

This open kitchen layout improves flow between the cooking, dining, and living areas while highlighting custom finishes and backyard views.

New custom dining bench added in the historic Arts & Crafts style to expand seating and improve traffic flow through the kitchen.
