As written in Northern Home & Cottage by Elizabeth Edwards
In general, Bryan and Connie Rellinger loved the charm of the old cottage they purchased on a Crooked Lake peninsula, north of Petoskey. Specifically, however, the presence of a live-well in the kitchen (a huge cement basin with running water for keeping fish alive was right in the kitchen entryway, seriously), rickety staircase and green shag carpet, not so much. An extreme renovation was the only solution. The downside? The rebuild would have to fit into the smallish nonconforming footprint. The upside? That footprint was built when folks could place a building close enough to the water to feel like they could dive in from the house. Ahhh...
Stephanie Baldwin of Edgewater Design helped the Rellingers come up with a timeless cottage design that breathes efficiency into every nook and cranny. It also expresses the synergy of Bryan, Connie and Stephanie, who emailed each other links to products they liked throughout the building process. That teamwork resulted in an interior that sports a young take on classic cottage. Highlights include a brass sink and light fixtures, coffered ceilings with wide beadboard planks, leathered granite kitchen counters and a way-cool floor made of American chestnut planks from an old barn.
Thanks to an abundant use of windows that deliver a grand view of Crooked Lake, the home feels airy and much larger than it is. Bryan and Connie also love how well the layout functions for their family - especially when they are entertaining. The kids' bedrooms are off a large landing at the top of the stairs - roomy enough to double as an entertainment room. When the adults are enjoying cocktail hour or a dinner party downstairs, they can pull a sliding door across the kitchen/great room area to seal it off from the kids' ruckus upstairs (or vice versa!).
From its gray-shingled dormers to its sweet white window boxes, this charmer on Crooked Lake is packed with ideas!

We created this outdoor kitchen from scratch. The client was very involved in the process. This outdoor kitchen boasts a smooth stucco finish with a limestone counter. The backsplash includes imported tiles from Portugal with a glass turquoise tile mosaic. We used a capstone
on top of the kitchen. The kitchen features an Artisan Grill and appliances and a U-Line refrigerator.

This completely customized kitchen was built to perfection with the collaboration of our clients interior designer and contractor.
Typical 1/8" spacing between all doors, drawer fronts and built in appliances made for a clean, contemporary look. The 9-step custom textured finish process on the doors allowed us to match perfectly the sample supplied by the interior designer. And the walnut veneer island was a nice contrasting accent to the painted cabinets.
This highly customized kitchen also included special features like the Aventos door lift hardware and Hafele Magic Corner II blind corner pullout. Similarly we included a butlers pantry and bar as well as an upstairs bar. Special bathroom features included a mens bath vanity, women's bath vanity, guest bath vanity, powder room and upstairs bath.

This small 1920s Dutch colonial was expanded and revived to house this sweet family of 5. Through a collaborative process with the clients and Alair Homes we explored multiple deign strategies to expand perception of space while keeping the unique scale of the existing home. The addition and renovation includes a new kitchen, covered porch, mudroom, half bath, new master suite, laundry and hall bath.

Staging by PammyB Designs
This beautiful home was completely vacant when I started the staging install. This staging install was a wonderful collaboration with the homeowner and involved a full staging process which included large & small pieces of furniture (couches, dining table, chairs, desk, patio furniture, etc) and many accessories (including rugs, art, mirrors & lamps). I think it turned out lovely and this home sold quickly.

Built in 1893 by renowned English architect Ernest Coxhead as the summer home of the Whittel family in Alameda’s Gold Coast neighborhood, this early Arts & Crafts style home retains all the features that set it apart as a distinctive addition to Gold Coast architecture. Retained by the current owners for a remodel to serve a modern day family, design plans include: adding a master bathroom, a complete renovation of the kitchen, turning the first-floor powder room into a full bath, adding a 3rd floor dormer office space and another bedroom. In addition to careful attention to historic preservation, our approach with this and every project included early conversations with builders to embed cost-control approaches in the design process.

TVLIFTCABINET, Inc was established in 2003. Before that, they already had 25 years of experience in designing and manufacturing furniture. Our focus now is on building innovative pop-up TV lift systems, with traditional wood craftsmanship and design. We design and manufacture every element that goes into the consoles, including the TV lift systems and the infrared relays. It is by controlling the design and manufacture of every element that we can be certain of the quality of each console they ship.
Because we control all aspects of the creation of our TV Lift consoles, and sell direct to you, our customer, we are also able to offer substantially lower prices than you would find in any traditional furniture store or even nation-wide chain. In fact, our prices are typically half what you would expect to pay for comparable quality elsewhere.
All of our products are made with the best of materials and the finest finishes: quality wood stock from pine to oak, cherry and mahogany. Over 20 in-house inspectors then assure that our exacting standards are met throughout the entire TV lift system design, production and packaging process. In addition, we then offer free shipping and a White Glove placement service that ensures your console is installed exactly where you want it, hassle-free.
Our commitment is to provide you with TV lift consoles of the very highest quality and reliability, with unmatched service, and for the very best price. If they ever fall short of that goal, please let us know.

These Danville homeowners had lived in their home for years and were ready to update their space to better suit their functional needs and personal design style. With an eye for detail and visual acuity, we eased into the design process together. Decisions were made decisively and quickly including the selection of a free-standing tub.
