Knowing that the kitchen now needed the space to accommodate two people regularly, we reconfigured it to suit our clients’ lifestyle change. We increased counter space significantly for preparation and presentation, making it intrinsically more functional but also yielding a greater sense of luxury. Storage was increased and planned around our understanding of their cooking and entertaining style, and how they move through the space. Our clients were comfortable and very much aware of their own sense of style – simplicity was the driving force behind their aesthetic. We removed all unnecessary embellishments and used a classic, neutral palette while introducing texture with rich walnut touches. Amy Birrer The kitchen pictured here is in a turn of the century home that still uses the original stove from the 1930’s to heat, cook and bake. The porcelain sink with drain boards are also originals still in use from the 1950’s. The idea here was to keep the original appliances still in use while increasing the storage and work surface space. Although the kitchen is rather large it has many of the issues of an older house in that there are 4 integral entrances into the kitchen, none of which could be rerouted or closed off. It also needed to encompass in-kitchen eating and a space for a dishwasher. The fully integrated dishwasher is raised off the floor and sits on ball and claw feet giving it the look of a freestanding piece of furniture. Elevating a dishwasher is a great way to avoid the constant bending over associated with loading and unloading dishes. The cabinets were designed to resemble an antique breakfront in keeping with the style and age of the house.

Designing an object was accompanied by certain difficulties. The owners bought a plot on which there was already a house. Its quality and appearance did not suit customers in any way. Moreover, the construction of a house from scratch was not even discussed, so the architects Vitaly Dorokhov and Tatyana Dmitrenko had to take the existing skeleton as a basis. During the reconstruction, the protruding glass volume was demolished, some structural elements of the facade were simplified. The number of storeys was increased and the height of the roof was increased. As a result, the building took the form of a real English home, as customers wanted. The planning decision was dictated by the terms of reference. And the number of people living in the house. Therefore, in terms of the house acquired 400 m \ 2 extra. The entire engineering structure and heating system were completely redone. Heating of the house comes from wells and the Ecokolt system. The climate system of the house itself is integrated into the relay control system that constantly maintains the climate and humidity in the house.

This custom closet system was installed as part of a full condominium renovation in the Capilano building at Woodcroft, 2024 Fullerton Ave., North Vancouver. The goal was to transform an outdated closet into a highly organized storage solution while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic consistent with the rest of the renovation. The closet features a custom-built organizer system with integrated drawers, shelving, and double hanging sections designed to maximize storage efficiency within the existing footprint. The cabinetry was carefully configured to provide dedicated areas for folded clothing, hanging garments, and concealed drawer storage. The mirrored sliding closet doors reflect the interior storage system, which may appear as additional cabinetry in the photo. In reality, the mirrored panels are reflecting the custom closet structure, helping visually expand the space while increasing natural light within the room. This storage upgrade was integrated with the broader renovation, which included kitchen remodeling with custom cabinetry, bathroom renovation, open-concept layout modifications, flooring replacement, and custom millwork installations throughout the condo. This lovely Denver home features a very tiny bathroom with mostly original features. Our client requested a makeover to the bathroom that would improve function & health as well as push the bright white minimalism she loves so much throughout her home. Respecting both budget and timeline, we worked to create a highly functional space with nods toward European bathroom design. We increased space between the toilet and vanity while also increasing storage by integrating a vanity with drawers rather than a pedestal sink. We utilized high gloss white tile on the floors to help expand light and replaced all major plumbing fixtures for a fresh look. The bathroom now features a much deeper alcove tub, elongated white subway tiles on the walls, shiny chrome faucet fixtures, and a new vanity light. In the kitchen, new white shaker cabinets were installed and paired with a simple white subway tile backsplash. White quartz countertops and new hardwood floors were also added. We love the clean, bright, simple nature of every space in this house and are so happy our wonderful client can enjoy these for years to come!

Like many Minneapolis homes from the 1920s, the original kitchen footprint was simply too small to accommodate the needs of its current homeowners. An earlier addition added square footage, but was poorly constructed and was not well integrated into the original space. The new layout included a 24” deep cantilevered addition to the back of the house that increased the footprint and allowed the kitchen to be unified into one continuous room. With the added space and the newly created arched opening to the dining room, enough space was created to include a spacious island for prep-work and family meals. The project included fully custom cabinetry with inset doors, marbled Cambria countertops and a flashy blue BluStar range. Period appropriate lighting fixtures, cabinet hardware and classic subway tile further integrate this stunning kitchen into the surrounding home.

This home had an existing pool that badly needed to be remodeled along with needing a space to entertain while protected from the outdoor elements. The pool was remodeled by integrating a new custom spa with water feature, updating all of the materials & finishes around the pool, and changing the entry into the pool with a new baja shelf.
