This house built in the 1990s never had renovations done prior to this whole house remodel. Filled with vibrant wallpaper and shiny brass finishes so indicative of the time the house was in need of a major upgrade and refresh. The laundry room already had ample space and storage, but we tailored the storage for the family. An integrated shoe shelf allows for a clean space to store shoes in this no shoe household. A fold down, integrated ironing board provides functionality without crowding the space. The powder bath is the only bath on the first floor, so is a full bath, but functions as a powder bath 90% of the time. We wanted to keep the focus away from the shower and keep the fun of a powder bath. A custom window pane patterned etched glass shower allows the shower to stay in the background. In the master bath there was also ample space, but the design was in great need of an upgrade. With a decked-in tub and shower that you had to step up and then down into, the space needed a better flow and easier access. A freestanding tub allowed all of the decking to be removed and gave space for a larger, more luxurious shower. A huge linen storage with bench that double as a suitcase stand finishes out the space nicely. The room was given a clean, modern farmhouse feel to really freshen up the space. The focus of this kitchen was to open up the workflow, creating a space for the family to work comfortably while also creating a beautiful and inspiring space. Placing a large refrigerator at the edge of the kitchen, adding a beverage refrigerator, using a Galley Workstation and having the island at a slightly lower height makes it highly functional for the whole family. It is rare to achieve a long line of symmetry, but with a feature wall created around the range top we were able to do so. We created an antique armoire feel with the panel ready refrigerator and custom panel design above. A mixture of hardware was used, the gray stained hickory cabinets were paired with matte black hardware, while the designer white cabinets were paired with brass hardware. A very custom refrigerator cabinet was created that emphasized the armoire feel. A long wall of 9” deep tall cabinets created a very beautiful as well as highly functional pantry space.

This home had a kitchen that wasn’t meeting the family’s needs, nor did it fit with the coastal Mediterranean theme throughout the rest of the house. The goals for this remodel were to create more storage space and add natural light. The biggest item on the wish list was a larger kitchen island that could fit a family of four. They also wished for the backyard to transform from an unsightly mess that the clients rarely used to a beautiful oasis with function and style. One design challenge was incorporating the client’s desire for a white kitchen with the warm tones of the travertine flooring. The rich walnut tone in the island cabinetry helped to tie in the tile flooring. This added contrast, warmth, and cohesiveness to the overall design and complemented the transitional coastal theme in the adjacent spaces. Rooms alight with sunshine, sheathed in soft, watery hues are indicative of coastal decorating. A few essential style elements will conjure the coastal look with its casual beach attitude and renewing seaside energy, even if the shoreline is only in your mind's eye. By adding two new windows, all-white cabinets, and light quartzite countertops, the kitchen is now open and bright. Brass accents on the hood, cabinet hardware and pendant lighting added warmth to the design. She doesn’t want a pattern or a shape or the same tiles. She wants it to look different, she demands the wow factor, but with a limited budget. You should definitely look at honey onyx wall or honey onyx mosaic wall tiles. Formed in the gas openings of lava, onyx is found in various regions around the world, from Pakistan to Madagascar. This stone is extremely fragile and porous. So it absorbs moisture and is not stain or crack resistant. Very often a backing of some kind is placed behind the tile due to its fragile nature. Hence its usage as a wall tile although it can be used as a floor tile too. Hardly anyone honey onyx tile looks similar, which creates a fantastic non-patterned natural look. You need to unpack your crates first and blend and mix these tiles in order to get the proper look. Presenting a case study of a client located in Nagoya, Japan. This client resides in an 85 square meter, two-bedroom, two-living room residence. The overall style of the house incorporates a blend of Japanese wooden and Nordic modern aesthetics. The client discovered us through a Google search and sought our expertise in recommending and selecting lighting fixtures suitable for their living room and dining area. The client expressed a preference for localized lighting, indicating a high requirement for accentuating specific areas. After reviewing the floor plans and renderings provided by the client, we assisted them in making their choices. Starting with the dining area, which is a separate space occupying approximately 10 square meters, the client has a solid wood dining table measuring 1.8 meters in length. Their preference for warm lighting led us to recommend the PH5 Macaron Pendant Light in a Nordic modern style. This pendant light offers a wide range of color options, and the client personally selected a combination of white and orange, paired with warm light sources. The actual result of this combination is truly remarkable. As the client had additional auxiliary lighting such as light strips installed in the dining area, the pendant light primarily serves the purpose of focusing the light on the food, perfectly meeting the client's requirements. Moving on to the living room, the client also has light strips installed on the ceiling and track lights in place. They expressed a need for a floor lamp beside the sofa to provide localized lighting, as they enjoy reading in the living room. Hence, we selected a unique umbrella-shaped wooden floor lamp that complements the pendant light in the dining area. This choice harmonizes well with the overall style of the dining area, which showcases a Japanese wooden aesthetic. When the client received the products, they expressed their complete satisfaction with how well the lighting fixtures aligned with their needs. This kitchen features Fieldstone Custom Cabinetry in the Stratford door style with a clean white finish. There are stacked cabinets that reach the tray ceiling with clear glass fronts ion the upper level. The backsplash features the 3x6 ceramic subway tile in Grigio from Cancos' Whisper line. Kohler fixtures were used, including the Whitehaven apron front sink and the Artifacts kitchen & prep faucets. A filtered hot-cold water dispenser from Insinkerator was also chosed to complement the faucets. Hardware, including cup pulls, is from Top Knobs' Somerset Weston line in Antique Pewter. The Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Basko appliances were paneled and installed with the flush-inset approach, to keep a streamlined look with the cabinets. A rectangular island includes a prep sink and double-ogee edge treatment on Silestone's Cygnus color. The decorative wood hood from Stanici delivers a focal point with beautiful curved lines, found also above & below the refrigerator and the shape of the cup pulls. At first sight, this Victorian tiled pathway in Palmers Green, N13 did not appear to need too many repairs, with just a few obvious broken and loose tiles to be fixed. On closer inspection however it became clear it was in need of a deep clean and fresh seal. To start, we applied Tile Doctor Remove & Go across the entire length of the pathway to break down and strip off the old sealer and provide an initial clean. In the more stubborn and difficult to reach areas where we saw the buildup of efflorescence, we applied Tile Doctor Acid Gel to neutralise the alkaline salts. Acid Gel, as the name indicates, is a pH1 blend of Phosphoric and Hydrochloric acid in gel form, making it easier to apply to tricky areas, including sloped or vertical surfaces. Users should be aware not to use this type of product on acid-sensitive stone such as Limestone, as this can cause etching if left on too long. Once the dirt and efflorescence buildups had been dealt with, I focused my attention towards the tile repairs, quickly realising that the extent of damage was greater than initially thought. Firstly, the numerous loose and broken tiles were removed and individually cleaned in a similar way to the rest of the floor. We then repaired the sub base ready for the existing and newly sourced tiles to be re-laid, before leaving the floor to set and dry overnight. The next day, the pathway was grouted, before being sealed with Tile Doctor’s colour enhancing, impregnating sealer, Colour Grow to bring back the life and character to the Victorian tiles. I was also asked to renovate the Edwardian hallway tiles in the house so once finished with the pathway they were deep cleaned using a strong dilution of Tile Doctor Pro Clean. This also helped to break down the old sealers and waxes – followed by a careful cleaning of the grout lines using Tile Doctor Grout Clean Up in combination with 3m black pads and detail brushes. To ensure any pre existing sealer was completely removed, I followed up with a steam clean and left the tiles to dry overnight. Upon my return to the property the next day, I completed re-grouting in the necessary areas, before sealing the tiles with five coats of Tile Doctor Seal & Go, providing an aesthetically pleasing satin finish. Seal & Go is a topical, solvent-based sealer which forms a layer of durable protection on the surface of the tiles, protecting against dirt and stains. The hard work invested in restoring these two floors certainly paid off, as the client was exceptionally pleased with the results, going as far as to leave the following feedback: “I wanted to restore my tired Edwardian tiled hallway and was given Rob Voyce’s contact details. I was very impressed with Rob and his team; they were very professional and friendly.
