One of two homes of a bicoastal television producer, this penthouse showpiece occupies the top story of a building nestled at the base of the Hollywood Hills. It offers panoramic views of Sunset Strip and mixes one-of-a-kind custom pieces with more casual retail pieces, to create a comfortable, contemporary home.
The 2-bed, 2-bath nods to California coastal vibe, while also reflecting its West Hollywood locale. It juxtaposes organic materials—such as a stunning sunburst wood wall covering and a jute living room rug, handwoven in India—with more industrial pieces, like the hand-cut antique mirror tiles in the dining space. The dining table, chairs and leather banquette are all custom, as are the living room easy chairs and the raffia-covered beds. This eclectic space reads as both cozy and capable.

This client had a very specific design aesthetic for this project, and it brought excellent inspiration to the entire renovation.

This creative transitional space was transformed from a very dated layout that did not function well for our homeowners - who enjoy cooking for both their family and friends. They found themselves cooking on a 30" by 36" tiny island in an area that had much more potential. A completely new floor plan was in order. An unnecessary hallway was removed to create additional space and a new traffic pattern. New doorways were created for access from the garage and to the laundry. Just a couple of highlights in this all Thermador appliance professional kitchen are the 10 ft island with two dishwashers (also note the heated tile area on the functional side of the island), double floor to ceiling pull-out pantries flanking the refrigerator, stylish soffited area at the range complete with burnished steel, niches and shelving for storage. Contemporary organic pendants add another unique texture to this beautiful, welcoming, one of a kind kitchen! Photos by David Cobb Photography.

In the master bathroom, the steam shower's enclosure mirrors the framework of the windows and doors used elsewhere in the home. Large white tile work organized in a subway pattern round out the period style, but with a decidedly modern edge. Making the shower large and curbless was a consideration with the future in mind. "We may need to be able to wheel in and out of there one day!" Stacy jokes. To the right of the shower, the wall opens up to reveal a concealed linen closet.

Location: Atlanta, Georgia - Historical Inman Park
Scope: This home was a new home we developed and built in Atlanta, GA. This was built to fit into the historical neighborhood. This kitchen/ living room is meant to appear like an addition to the "original" home, which is in fact also new. This space is designed more within the modern farmhouse feel. The wood on the fireplace is from our sustainable woods program and is from a downed white oak tree.
