The cast iron fireplace in the living room serves as the room's focal point, complemented by a striking antique brass mirror that elegantly reflects the landscape artwork above the sofa. Deep blue accents inject rich jewel tones among the muted soft grey palette. Extra texture is brought in with the shapely oval linen shades of the chandelier and layers of cosy throws, resulting in a warm and conversational space.

This was the last major remodel for Rowena and Dennis. We've completed their kitchen, living and two additional bathrooms. Rowena wanted to spare no expense here and get what she wanted. The entire home is somewhat contemporary, a,omg with the architecture, but I wanted to inject a zen, feelimg, I got in this space. We're not done yet, but we're very happy with the results so far

The exterior of what looks like a vernacular Hamptons shingle cottage, designed by architect Blaze Makoid, is intentionally deceiving. For the interiors, Axis Mundi typically decided not to play by the rules. Instead of de rigeur nautical artifacts, floppy sofas and wicker furniture, the firm responded to Makoid’s all-white interior envelope by injecting rooms with comfortable modern elegance that’s more contemporary Cap Ferrat than Eastern Long Island. Clean furniture silhouettes—from Cassina, Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia—a Massimo Vitali beach scene, a Moooi chandelier and industrial finishes (such as the steel of the fireplace surround and the anodized aluminum of a sleek Bulthaup kitchen) spark a creative tension between indoors and out. The gray palette provides a quiet backdrop for the nature outside, except for the master suite, where custom oak panels and blue shades create a reassuring warmth conducive to sleep.

The homeowner wanted to inject some color into this second floor main bath. We started out by selecting White Galaxy granite that had bits of eggplant, black, gray, white, ivory and taupe. These colors were the inspiration of the room’s color palette. The tile store had a narrow deco style tile that coordinated with the granite. The interior designer had the tile setters do a 12” wide vertical feature accent tile strip in the center of the back wall of the tub. 12” x 24” taupe porcelain tile was selected for the bath walls and floor. A subtle shade of lavender was selected for the walls. White hand towels with embroidered lavender and gray accents plus a trio of real rustic amethyst gemstones are an exciting additions to the vanity top.
A white flat panel Shaker style double vanity and a large taupe and brown custom framed vanity mirror are the room’s focal point. There is a matching white slip-in cabinet for linens and towel storage. Two horizontal polished chrome bar lights over each vanity sink provide ample light.

Nestled in the serene hills of Beverly Hills, this 5,900 sqft private residence designed by HENNE CREATIVE is a masterclass in minimal luxury. The architectural language merges sharp lines with warm materiality, creating an atmosphere of effortless sophistication and calm.
The double height living room anchors the heart of the home, with expansive glazing that draws the surrounding landscape inward. A sculptural floating staircase connects both levels while embracing natural light, emphasizing verticality without overwhelming the space.
The palette is defined by warm walnut ceilings, crisp white walls, large format porcelain surfaces, and soft natural micro cement floors balancing visual warmth with a serene, almost gallery-like restraint. The bespoke modular sofa and low slung furniture pieces reinforce a grounded, architectural approach to interior design.
Soft curves in the lighting installation contrast the otherwise linear geometry, injecting fluidity and movement into the space. The fireplace wall, concealed storage solutions, and integrated lighting showcase HENNE CREATIVE's signature: form following function with quiet precision.
Throughout the home, circulation is framed by uninterrupted sightlines and natural transitions between public and private zones. Hidden gardens, clean detailing, and material honesty all combine to offer a deeply meditative living experience where every element has been considered for both aesthetic impact and spatial clarity.
This project reflects our studio’s belief that true luxury lies in restraint, clarity, and intentional living.

Game On is a lower level entertainment space designed for a large family. We focused on casual comfort with an injection of spunk for a lounge-like environment filled with fun and function. Architectural interest was added with our custom feature wall of herringbone wood paneling, wrapped beams and navy grasscloth lined bookshelves flanking an Ann Sacks marble mosaic fireplace surround. Blues and greens were contrasted with stark black and white. A touch of modern conversation, dining, game playing, and media lounge zones allow for a crowd to mingle with ease. With a walk out covered terrace, full kitchen, and blackout drapery for movie night, why leave home?

LiLu’s most recent work with these long-time clients was to freshen up significant spaces in their Minneapolis home. Staying true to our original concept of creating a traditional, welcoming, and comfortable retreat, these homeowners have expanded on their love for living and entertaining in a sophisticated, yet casual style. The great room is light and bright, featuring two large sofas that anchor the seating areas on both ends of the room. Original pieces of furniture were covered in neutral fabrics that emphasize texture. Accessories inject color and detail into the space. The dining area invites guests to pull up a reupholstered chair and enjoy long conversations around the custom-designed table. A large area rug stretches across the floor as a natural centerpiece of color and pattern. It’s one of several, including the whimsical take on a tree of life, that are custom-designed for the space. The guest room was updated to be more inviting for returning adult children and their spouses. Previous furnishings were replaced with nightstands and a large, custom bed that more closely complement the sophisticated feel of the rest of the home.

This Exposed Aggregate concrete had settled as much as 1/2 inch in some areas, causing a hazard to users - a "toe-tripper" to say the least! Raised to the level of the rest of the surface using Polyurethane Foam injection as opposed to "Mud Jacking", the sub-grade will never wash away.

A striking contemporary kitchen that plays with contrast, function, and a clear sense of identity. The deep indigo cabinetry grounds the space with sophistication, while matte brass handles add a touch of luxe. A fine mosaic tiled splashback lends subtle texture behind the crisp black tap and inset sink. The composition is balanced by the island’s pale worktop, which becomes both a focal prep area and an informal gathering spot beneath a trio of floating globe pendants. Carefully curated objects—plants, ceramics, and cook-themed décor—inject warmth and personality, reflecting a home that’s vibrant, modern, and very much lived in.

In this project, we had the joy of designing and renovating a home that embodies modern warmth, chic elegance, and an unmistakable luxurious feel, with a keen eye for detail throughout. Our goal was to bring our client's vision to life: a home perfect for both grand entertaining and the daily rhythms of family life. They dreamed of a welcoming space where friends could gather, share fine wines, and enjoy each other's company. Our highlight? Transforming an underutilized laundry room into an exquisite wine cellar. This exquisite space now proudly displays our client’s wine collection, creating the perfect backdrop for cozy gatherings as well as elegant entertainment.
The transformation of the primary closet into a daily luxury experience stands out, too. We designed it to highlight every item, from the most delicate sweaters to the most refined suits, giving the feel of a private boutique. And for the beloved pets of the family, we introduced a charming addition—a doggy shower in the revamped laundry room. This delightful feature simplifies pet care and injects a dose of happiness into the home. The butler’s pantry has also received a makeover, turning it into a stunning and practical area for meal preparation.
We're proud to have collaborated with our client to create a home that seamlessly blends stunning aesthetics with practical functionality, celebrating both the beauty of design and the comfort of living. This home stands as a testament to a lifestyle that values both special moments and everyday pleasures.
