Susan Semmelmann is famed for audacious design statements, but she also cherishes the simplicity and elegance of a Step into the realm of your Dream Home with us. We curate the look and feel of your desired abode, encompassing all elements from illuminations to adornments.
While Susan Semmelmann is acclaimed for her daring design declarations, she holds a deep reverence for the allure of chic, minimalist aesthetics. Our fabrics, draperies, and furnishings are skillfully fashioned at our Fort Worth Fabric Studio - a vibrant, woman-led establishment nestled in the heart of Texas.
Your dream living room comes to life with a prominent white brick accent wall and fireplace, lending an urban twist to your Texan home. Resting beneath a dazzling crystal chandelier are plush beige couches, creating a harmonious balance between comfort and elegance. Our concept of a bathroom is a place for you to dissolve the day's stresses; thus, we utilized a serene, all-white palette and emphasized absolute balance within your personal retreat. Amidst designing your symmetrically placed, eggshell cabinets, we laid down a classy marble floor intended for regal footfalls. The center stage is dominated by a spotless, inviting plunge bath designed for indulgent bubble baths.
In crafting your dream kitchen, we married chic design with timeless elegance. Across a single stretch, we merged eggshell cabinets and a marble countertop with a smoothly integrated sink, dishwasher, and state-of-the-art oven. The dark wood floors and custom brown drapes add warmth and contrast to the space, accentuating the room's modern-yet-classic appeal.
With the bounty of countertop space ready to echo your personal style, we’ll inject a unique decorative flourish guaranteed to impress your visitors. For an innovative take on modern home conception, trust Susan Semmelmann and her 23 years of Interior Design experience to realize your dreams.

The exterior of what looks like a vernacular Hamptons shingle cottage, designed by architect Blaze Makoid, is intentionally deceiving. For the interiors, Axis Mundi typically decided not to play by the rules. Instead of de rigeur nautical artifacts, floppy sofas and wicker furniture, the firm responded to Makoid’s all-white interior envelope by injecting rooms with comfortable modern elegance that’s more contemporary Cap Ferrat than Eastern Long Island. Clean furniture silhouettes—from Cassina, Poltrona Frau and B&B Italia—a Massimo Vitali beach scene, a Moooi chandelier and industrial finishes (such as the steel of the fireplace surround and the anodized aluminum of a sleek Bulthaup kitchen) spark a creative tension between indoors and out. The gray palette provides a quiet backdrop for the nature outside, except for the master suite, where custom oak panels and blue shades create a reassuring warmth conducive to sleep.

A modern farmhouse kitchen with white uppers and gray painted lowers. A walnut shiplap range hood and chevron wall detail inject warmth into the space. Gold cups and pulls pop against the cabinets. The MSI Brina printed tile stands out against the beveled white subway tile backsplash. Q Quartz Alabaster White quartz counters complete the look.

This young boy desired a baseball themed bedroom that he would be able to grow into over time. We transformed his space into a space he can read, and sleep. He loves his new space and is thrilled about the transformation.
Decals, paint and accessories helped bring this room to completion. A blue painted ceiling helped inject color into the room, without making it feel smaller than it is. Floating shelves allowed for plenty of practical storage and space to decorate on theme, with baseball paraphernalia.

Game On is a lower level entertainment space designed for a large family. We focused on casual comfort with an injection of spunk for a lounge-like environment filled with fun and function. Architectural interest was added with our custom feature wall of herringbone wood paneling, wrapped beams and navy grasscloth lined bookshelves flanking an Ann Sacks marble mosaic fireplace surround. Blues and greens were contrasted with stark black and white. A touch of modern conversation, dining, game playing, and media lounge zones allow for a crowd to mingle with ease. With a walk out covered terrace, full kitchen, and blackout drapery for movie night, why leave home?

Bringing to life harmony, comfort and calmness. Careful selection of furnishings to provide a timeless interior. The colour scheme is inspired from nature - khaki tans, greens, clay - layered with graphic patterns, soft textures and black accents to inject energy and interest to the decor.

"Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" reimagines the traditional dining room as a versatile haven, perfect for year-round conversation and creating a lasting first impression. This project catered to the client's desire for a space that seamlessly blends casual elegance with organic elements. The design team employed a calming palette of soft whites and airy blues, setting the stage for a serene escape.
Textural harmony was achieved through a layered approach: radial plush linen chairs provided sumptuous comfort, while woven pillows and a shagreen-wrapped coffee table added a touch of rustic charm. A lush fiddle fig leaf plant, strategically placed in the space, injected a dose of life and echoed the organic design theme.
Respectful of the existing foundation, we integrated the client's existing rug, a statement chandelier, and a captivating wall thread hanging into the new design. To elevate the space further, we introduced custom elements that instilled a sense of unique character. Hand-crafted wood beams and wall trim, reminiscent of a sun-drenched porch, added warmth and architectural interest.
Oyster-hued wallpaper on the foyer ceiling provided a bold textural contrast and a touch of coastal sophistication. The added white trim was accentuated, drawing the eye upwards and creating a sense of verticality. The "Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" transcends the limitations of a traditional front room, offering a versatile space that invites relaxation and connection.
This project exemplifies our ability to curate a space that is both elegant and inviting, perfectly reflecting the client's personality and lifestyle.

This machine, called a wall cavity injector, hooks up to holes drilled into the wall to dry the drywall from the inside out, which saves time and money by not having to rip out and replace the drywall.

Always wanting an island for dining and prep, this homeowner decided it was time to remodel the kitchen.
Removing the peninsula made the room more open and airy, and allowed for the island to create a stunning focal point. We saved on budget by refacing the existing cabinets and building a custom island --this allowed room in the budget to upgrade to a marble backsplash--another classic that will remain timeless for decades.
Pulling in some neutrals like whites and greys and then injecting her favorite color blue, the kitchen became an extension of her! Quartz countertops in Torquay and classic shaker-style cabinets make this a coastal classic design. The blue is just the cherry on the cake, or should we say blueberry?

Creating your dream space in a rental home can sometimes feel limiting, but for this project we focused on unlocking colorful possibilities for our clients.
Originally, both office spaces were bare and clean but lacked personality.
Our goal was to level everything up while injecting more fun and flavor into the office spaces so they had Zoom-friendly backdrops that made them look forward to going into the office each day.
His space was understated but masculine and infused with a warm, desert style (hello, cactus!) that conjured up visions of Palm Springs.
Finally, we added a special Hubby Nook into Her space so that he could visit her and hang out while she was working.

Unite elegance and functionality in your dining space with this exquisite set that includes the Tannen dining table and four matching side chairs. The table, a masterpiece of design, features a spacious 59" round tabletop poised elegantly on a robust pedestal base, promising both style and stability. Its natural grain variation and distressed finish inject a touch of rustic charm. The side chairs, designed to complement the table, blend ergonomic comfort with a sleek, minimalist aesthetic. Together, the set creates a harmonious dining environment, perfect for both everyday meals and special occasions, embodying sophistication without sacrificing comfort.

Who said that beige is boring? We think that beige is a new grey! This bathroom is the epitome of understated luxury thanks to its beautiful tiles and high quality fittings. Beige porcelain tiles with delicate veins form a perfect backdrop for elegant Victoria+Albert vessel basin and freestanding bath. Freestanding bath is an ultimate statement piece that brings the bathroom to life and creates an eye-catching focal point. Quarrycast material is soft to touch and has excellent insulating properties providing a comfortable bathing experience.
Feature tiles with different texture surface contrast beautifully with an over the counter basin, and German engineered GROHE wall mounted tap completes the look with its sleek shape. The frameless LED backlit mirror not only injects a dose of style into the bathroom but also provides subtle illumination when needed. The Koehler wall hung toilet is cleverly concealed behind the vanity, and its smooth clean lines fit perfectly with the bathroom design. GROHE Rainshower overhead shower is a perfect choice for the high impact bathroom and provides an unbeatable showering experience with its generous 310mm shower head and DreamSpray technology.

Just wrapped up an incredible kitchen remodel and couldn’t be happier with the results! Under the guidance of our amazing Project Manager, Tony Cicchino, and the talented Designer, Justina Auer, this kitchen looks unrecognizable from the Before pictures. We opted to maintain the existing layout but injected a dash of brilliance with additional cabinetry, elevating both form and function. The decision to remove overhead wall cabinets above the peninsula really started to open up the space, allowing for a more seamless and spacious feel. We also bid adieu to the faux beams to gain a fluid perspective throughout the room. The clever addition of a pantry cabinet and additional storage space on the backside of the peninsula really expanded the storage universe. By lifting the microwave off the counter, we gained valuable extra counter space. The hidden pull-out trash under the counter is a game-changer for convenience. We embraced a clean and timeless palette of simple whites and grays, making the space a perfect canvas for personal touches. This kitchen is now a masterpiece that marries practicality with panache!
