A compact entry allows for a more open feeling while keeping plenty of space and storage to be comfortable. The dark modern fireplace and surround inject a sophisticated accent while still keeping the space light and warm.

Our clients fell in love with this expansive modern home and collaborated with us to inject their personalities and add function to meet their lifestyle. Original artwork collected during their travels inspired much of the interior palette, and we looked to vibrant patterned fabrics, bold accents and gorgeous floral wallpapers to boost the personality of the spaces. In the great room, we added color with a bold wool area rug and accent pillows, and the pair of swivel chairs in the window invites leisurely time taking in the sweeping views. The richly textured dining room has its own personality with brick-clad walls and an unapologetically stylish sputnik chandelier. The primary bedroom is wrapped in soft, modern floral wallpaper that inspired the palette of the bespoke furnishings and luxurious bedding. Rich upholstery and supple leather adorn pieces customized for the space. The home’s key entertaining space is the ground level bar and lounge which boasts a custom handcrafted wine wall by Sommi Wine Cellars. Furnishings with colorful patterns and unique shapes are everywhere, inviting lively gatherings and conversation. The hobby room invites the couple to get creative together and serves as a multi-purpose getaway. The guest room repurposed the couple’s existing bedroom furniture and area rug, and we pulled it all together with new artwork, lamps and bedding to create an inviting space for guests. A Craftsman bungalow goes industrial. JZID injected an industrial feel in a classic Milwaukee area Craftsman bungalow by adding concrete counters and headboard, new lighting, paint and furniture.

Game On is a lower level entertainment space designed for a large family. We focused on casual comfort with an injection of spunk for a lounge-like environment filled with fun and function. Architectural interest was added with our custom feature wall of herringbone wood paneling, wrapped beams and navy grasscloth lined bookshelves flanking an Ann Sacks marble mosaic fireplace surround. Blues and greens were contrasted with stark black and white. A touch of modern conversation, dining, game playing, and media lounge zones allow for a crowd to mingle with ease. With a walk out covered terrace, full kitchen, and blackout drapery for movie night, why leave home?

The cast iron fireplace in the living room serves as the room's focal point, complemented by a striking antique brass mirror that elegantly reflects the landscape artwork above the sofa. Deep blue accents inject rich jewel tones among the muted soft grey palette. Extra texture is brought in with the shapely oval linen shades of the chandelier and layers of cosy throws, resulting in a warm and conversational space.

Angie & Amanda began their journey to transform the master bathroom in their new home while overcoming their previous disappointing experiences with contractors. Their goal was to craft a space that reflected their style as well as making their shower functional for them for years to come. A key change was their decision to remove the existing bathtub, which made space for an over-sized custom shower. This shower includes a dry-off area with multiple towel hooks that were thoughtfully positioned to maximize the space near the window and side wall. They chose 12" x 24" tiles in Nobleza Lugo with a polished finish for the walls and the matte version for the floor of their dry-off area, ensuring a cohesive design. The shower floor features 2" x 2" square tiles in Contessa Oro, blending perfectly with the walls and floor for a luxurious feel. One of the highlights was the addition of a large recessed wall niche along with a recessed shaving niche. Both were accentuated with Montage City Chic Glass tiles, injecting a sophisticated and contrasting flair into the shower's functional features. Angie and Amanda chose to continue this accent throughout their new shower by adding an accent band of the same glass tiles along the shower walls, which introduced another custom touch to the area. The Delta Lahara shower trim, along with the Delta In2ition shower head, both in the Venetian Bronze finish, enhanced shower experience. A clear frameless tempered glass door with matching hardware completed the look.

"Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" reimagines the traditional dining room as a versatile haven, perfect for year-round conversation and creating a lasting first impression. This project catered to the client's desire for a space that seamlessly blends casual elegance with organic elements. The design team employed a calming palette of soft whites and airy blues, setting the stage for a serene escape. Textural harmony was achieved through a layered approach: radial plush linen chairs provided sumptuous comfort, while woven pillows and a shagreen-wrapped coffee table added a touch of rustic charm. A lush fiddle fig leaf plant, strategically placed in the space, injected a dose of life and echoed the organic design theme. Respectful of the existing foundation, we integrated the client's existing rug, a statement chandelier, and a captivating wall thread hanging into the new design. To elevate the space further, we introduced custom elements that instilled a sense of unique character. Hand-crafted wood beams and wall trim, reminiscent of a sun-drenched porch, added warmth and architectural interest. Oyster-hued wallpaper on the foyer ceiling provided a bold textural contrast and a touch of coastal sophistication. The added white trim was accentuated, drawing the eye upwards and creating a sense of verticality. The "Sun-Kissed Sanctuary" transcends the limitations of a traditional front room, offering a versatile space that invites relaxation and connection.
