They artistically cover half the wall, adding warmth and texture to the space. Indeed, creating a japandi modern fusion style that combines the best of both worlds. You might just even say japandi bathroom with a modern twist. Elegance and Boldness Above the tiles, the walls are bathed in fresh white paint. Particularly, he crisp whiteness of the paint complements the earthy tones of the maple tiles, resulting in a harmonious blend of simplicity and elegance. Interior deconstruction that preceded the renovation has made room for efficient space division. Bi-level entrance hall breaks the apartment into two wings: the left one of the first floor leads to a kitchen and the right one to a living room. The walls are layered with large marble tiles and wooden veneer, enriching and invigorating the space. A master bedroom with an open bathroom and a guest room are located in the separate wings of the second floor. Transitional space between the floors contains a comfortable reading area with a library and a glass balcony. One of its walls is encrusted with plants, exuding distinctively calm atmosphere.

The cabinetry on the perimeter was crafted in a gentle white color, setting a calming tone to the kitchen. Meanwhile, the island was finished with a dark shining maple stain for visual impact and pleasing contrast. A Mercer Island couple wanted to transform their yard from mushy lawn into a more usable, beach-like space. We added new concrete pads to connect the stairs to the waterfront complete with salvaged, cedar logs around a deconstructed wood-burning firepit, invigorating the space and creating a place to relax and entertain right on the water. A refreshing guest bathroom makeover. Gorgeous horizontal grain, gray oak veneer cabinetry adds subtle movement to this space with a calming soft white monochromatic palette with splashes of teal to invigorate the senses. We've added a double sink to accommodate her visiting guests. Quartz counter tops add a clean, sleek feel to the vanity with modern chrome fixtures.

The original cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and moldings got tossed. We modified the oven cabinet to fit the new ovens, added a deeper and shorter refrigerator cabinet, and eliminated the old-school recessed sink front. New moldings were added and then the original cabinet boxes were painted in place. New hard, durable, factory-painted doors, and drawer fronts were installed. On the island, we added a couple of drawers, refaced in a complementary stained wood, and added posts to the backside for a touch of elegance. The old, non-functional, fluorescent under-cabinet lights were swapped-out for new LED tape-style versions. The existing tile floor was in great shape, so we just made sure it was protected during the project. It is amazing how the countertops, floor, backsplash, and wallpaper all got re-invigorated by association when we upgraded the look of the cabinetry. Photo's by Warren Smith, CMKBD
